I have to hand it to Gameloft for their continued support of their Gameloft LIVE! service even after Game Center’s release and domination on the iOS platform. Although, some times I find it to be somewhat annoying that all of my hard earned Gameloft LIVE! achievements scores are most likely going unnoticed since not everyone checks their Gameloft LIVE! profile as much as their Game Center profile. But when it comes to the Android OS, there’s still a gold rush of sorts of gaming social media platforms until Google decides … Read more
Halfbrick’s other big game that doesn’t include slicing up dangerous fruit being hurdled in your direction, Jetpack Joyride, has been winning the minds and hearts of anyone that’s played it with its one-button interface and addictive gameplay. In fact, Halfbrick announced today at D.I.C.E. in Las Vegas they have made it past the 13 million download mark, although I would have easily been impressed if they announced they made it past 10 million downloads. What makes this news even more impressive is the fact Jetpack Joyride has achieved this goal … Read more
EA is getting set to release one of 2012′s most highly anticipated games, Mass Effect 3, on March 6th. They will already dominate the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 scene when the game is released, and they may also dominate your iOS device when Mass Effect Infiltrator is released on March 6th, too. During an EA press event yesterday, I got some hands-on time with their upcoming Mass Effect iOS offering. Mass Effect Infiltrator isn’t another Mass Effect Galaxy which ended up not being a very successful mobile title for BioWare. … Read more
One of iOS’ premier zombie murdering first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies received an update over the weekend which allows players to spend even more money on the game by incorporating in-app purchases into the game. The new update allows players to “enhance their experience” by way of in-game point packs that can be purchased via in-app purchases in order for players to receive a bunch of in-game points. The in-game points can then be used in order to purchase weapons, ammo, build barricades, and much more. Of course, … Read more
Capcom has made another Nintendo DS exclusive title available on iOS today as Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective has moved his quirky investigative prowess to the App Store today. If you recall the first Capcom Nintendo DS exclusive game to jump to the iOS platform was Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney back in 2010. Ironically, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was created by the same man: Shu Takumi. Instead of playing out courtroom drama from case to case, this mystery adventure game has players assuming the role of Sisel as he uses his … Read more
Up until late 2011, Microsoft has kept its library of exclusive apps that were compatible with the Xbox 360′s Xbox LIVE! to its Windows Phone 7 platform. Then this past December, Microsoft decided to open the flood gates just a smidgen by releasing the Xbox Live app and Kinectimals to the iOS platform to the mobile industry’s surprise. It isn’t surprising to hear both apps have done very well for Microsoft, which is exactly why they plan to develop more Xbox Live compatible apps for iOS & Android. The news comes … Read more
Even though the console version of id Software’s RAGE left much to be desired, that doesn’t mean RAGE HD for iOS isn’t a terrific game. The latest update for RAGE HD brings a slew of enhancements such as iOS 5 support, the ability to melee your enemies, and two new episodes called Kraken and Aqueduct which can be purchased for only $.99 via in-app purchase. And just to clarify, that’s $.99 for both episodes. … Read more

NimbleBit, who are the developers of the hugely popular freemium title, Tiny Tower, has recently taken notice that Zynga has just released a game that’s deeply inspired by theirs called Dream Heights. So, as any rational person would do when their hard work is being completely ripped off by a much larger and more successful company, they decided to write Zynga a little letter. The letter from Nimblebit to Zynga congratulates the company for their release of Dream Heights, which they point out Zynga must be big fans of their … Read more
Last month, SEGA announced it would be delivering the next episode in the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 episodic game on iOS & Android, but in order for Android gamers to genuinely get excited over the next episode in Sonic 4, they need to experience Episode I. The only way they would be able to do that is if they also owned an iOS device or picked the game up on their console or PC. That all changes today as SEGA has finally released Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I onto the Android … Read more
