About Dusan
Dusan has been using smartphones since their introduction and is now following the latest trends in the industry. The "convergence" is what he's most excited about, and writing about it is the next logical thing to do. He thinks that using a smartphone is what everyone who cares about their time should do.
In addition to his interests in mobile phones, Dusan also loves to experiment with the latest web and mobile 2.0 services. The idea of accessing and managing your information from any device no matter where you are simply amazes him. Whether it's an online to-do list, note taking service or a video sharing social network, he's there to try it out. He admits though, he's still searching for the ultimate web-based organizational tool, which "sings" perfectly with the mobile PIM application.
Dusan used to run SymbianWatch.com which later became part of IntoMobile. He lives in Serbia, South-East Europe, from where he edits the site on a daily basis.

Despite the fact that there ware no single Meizu device on display at CeBIT in Hanover – Germany, Engadget guys pulled some information from the Meizu’s CEO about their upcoming (i)phone. To recap their words:
- At least initially, the Meizu miniOne will enter the western world as a portable audio/video player, NOT as a phone! I guess the company could rely on customers using Skype or some other VoIP client for calling.
- The Meizu’s entrance model will NOT have a camera and will cost $195 for the 4GB model and $305 for the 8GB version. Read the full article »

In Accessories, Samsung
It’s a cruel world out there. Just when I though that my Samsung WEP 410 Bluetooth headset is the coolest one on the planet, the brutal Korean company showcased the WEP 420 model at this year’s CeBIT in Hanover, Germany.

Namco Networks announced plans to bring the classic arcade hit Popeye to mobile phones through a partnership with King Features. The game will resemble the classic Popeye game from the ’80s and will let players be Popeye on his quest to win back his sweetie while overcoming the antics of his rival Bluto. Collect the hearts, musical notes and cries of “H-E-L-P” that a captured Olive tosses down, while avoiding the Sea Hag’s bouncing skulls, Bluto’s punches and other dangers. True to the series, Popeye is “strong to the finich” if he gets his spinach, temporarily gaining the strength to go after Bluto and knock him off the screen.

In Devices, Pantech
Samsung is not the only one that makes ultra-slim phones. At just 9.99mm (0.39″), latest Pantech’s device, Maglev, is the slimmest slider phone on the market. But this dog knows a new trick – it uses the magnetic levitation, the same technology that is used by the ultra-fast trains in Japan. Maglev also sports a 1.3 MP camera, MP3 player and DMP (terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting).

Anyhow, the new technology brings the new costs. Maglev is priced around $530 and is set to hit the Korean market next month. (via: Gizmodo)

During the CEBIT, Slashgear got a minute to check-out the stylish Samsung SGH-F500. The SGH-F500 is a member of the Samsung’s Ultra family that sports such things as a 2 MP camera, Bluetooth with A2DP support, and a TV-Out. This short video illustrates how to use the SGH-F500 for video playback. (Note: Check out the navigation keys).

In Events, Sony Ericsson
Don’t know about you, but I like the overall Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE)’s marketing, especially their latest “I (Sony Ericsson) something” promo materials. They are always professionally designed, and the vibrant colors make them a true pleasure for eyes.

Now, during the CeBIT, the Swedish-Japanese company prepared the booth for both Hanover and the Second Life users. Sadly, users report that their virtual booth is kind an empty. (via: Gizmodo)

Good ol’ Chinese never cease to impress. Their latest “invention” is… the iPhone! Of course we’re kidding, as this is a blatant infringement of Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s trademark. The interface of this device somehow resembles the one of Nokir E828 (aka N73 clone), and we can assume that it’s the same company that makes both of these devices. Apple lawyers get – set – go! In Apple, iPhone
Online cell phone store, LetsTalk, has conducted a survey to determine current music phone users’ interest for the iPhone.

The results discover not-that-bright outlook for the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s flagship product, with 52% of the surveyed users answering that they will NOT buy an iPhone. Among the reasons, users quoted price and their happiness with the existing cell phones. (via: Gizmodo)

MobileSystem, one of the top developers of Symbian applications, announced the release of MobileDVD – an application that allows seamless video playback on Symbian S60 3rd edition devices.
MobileDVD comes as both Windows and a Symbian application. The first one is used for converting video files and DVDs to an appropriate mobile phone’s screen size, while the latter is used for playing those new, converted files.
This isn’t the first such application, but MobileSystem promises that MobileDVD is the easiest to use.

With the launch date for the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N95 approaching, the first video ads for this magnificent device have appeared on 6rooms. The main point of this clip is to emphasize N95’s many features – “There’s a thing in my pocket, but it’s not one thing – it’s many!”. It’s kind an old school, but I like it! (via: SymbianFreak)
