Contact UsWe got our hands on a few new Kyocera handsets today at CTIA 2013 in Las Vegas, one of them being the ruggedized and waterproof Kyocera Hydro Edge. It’s predecessor, the Kyocera Hydro was announced last year at CTIA 2012 in New Orleans. The Hydro Edge continues Kyocera’s ruggedized, waterproof mid-range smartphone model, and brings it up to 2013 with more powerful specs and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The specs of the device are not super impressive by today’s standards, but are functional nonetheless. The Kyocera Hydro Edge packs a … Read more
We’ve all be there. You’re in the middle of something and you get a call you can’t answer. When you decide to decline the call, if your phone supports it, you can send a pre-written text to the person saying, “I’m busy, what’s up?” or something of the sort. Well, Call Snap will let you show the person why you missed their call with a photo. Call Snap adds a new option on your phone’s call menu when you receive a call. It’s a simple slider that will initiate a … Read more
We were all impressed by Watson’s trouncing of Jeopardy grandmaster Ken Jennings, a couple of years ago. While the system was designed specifically to compete on the game show, its real world implications are great. Recently IBM announced plans to adapt Watson for healthcare purposes, harnessing its searching and indexing power to keep health care providers abreast of the latest medical information. Now IBM is leasing out Watson to handle customer service for companies such as Nielsen, IHS, Royal Bank of Canada, and ANZ Bank. Apps designed by these partners will use … Read more
“We were talking about another company that dropped the e before the r, and we realized we wanted to make Flickr awesome again.” Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer said before the redesigned Flickr‘s big reveal. Of course she was referring to Yahoo’s acquisition of Tumblr, which we reported on earlier today. But the redesign of Flickr, it’s lovely new Android app, and especially the 1 TB of free storage available were certainly big news as well. Flickr’s site has looked pretty tired for a long time, with lots of blank white space and … Read more

Thanks to a leaked photo from @evleaks, it now looks as if LG will be bringing its Optimus F3 to Sprint’s network in the coming weeks. Sprint is also in line to release the Optimus G Pro on its network soon, according to recent leaks reported by Phone Arena. LG’s F-series Optimus devices are mid-range smartphones that are intended to bring LTE connectivity to customers at a low-cost. The long-time rumored Samsung Galaxy S4 Active has been caught in the wild and you can see how it looks like from the image above. Instead of boasting a plastic body, this model comes in a metallic shell with bolts on the back. Moreover, it has three hardware buttons that replace the “old” capacitive touch keys, giving its owners an extra proof of toughness (or something of that sort). Earlier we reported that the Galaxy S4 Active won’t have processor as fast as the one “regular” Galaxy S4 has; now … Read more
Shortly before the release of the Samsung Galaxy S4, we had heard that Samsung would be bringing some of the Galaxy S4′s software features to the Galaxy S III. Included in the leaked update are Galaxy S4 features such as S-Voice, a new lock screen with multiple widgets, new screen modes and voice controls. The update also includes actionable notifications, Driving Mode and some … Read more
We reported last week on the fate of the Nexus Q. The excellent Google Play Music update with all of its streaming content isn’t compatible with the Nexus Q device, effectively making it useless as a media (or at least music) streaming orb and leaving it essentially broken. The Q was introduced at last year’s Google I/O and was designed to allow you to stream content from your phone or tablet to your TV. After the device failed to garner much interest from consumers and had some initial problems, Google postponed … Read more
Looks like the water- and dust-proof version of the Galaxy S4 won’t have the same guts as the original Galaxy S4. According to the GFX Benchmark site, the upcoming Galaxy S4 Active won’t use either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 nor Samsung Exynos 5 Octa; rather the Korean giant will opt for Qualcomm’s slower Snapdragon S4 Plus SoC. This hardware also comes with a quad-core processor, but it’s not as fast as Qualcomm’s more premium offerings. It is said that there will be few different Galaxy S4 Active models: SGH-I537 is … Read more
