MWC: HTC may show off Endeavour with Tegra 3, ICS, 4.7-inch screen

With Mobile World Congress just around the corner and Samsung holding off on the Galaxy S III, the table is set for a company like HTC to “win” the show. Rumors suggest that it will introduce a monster handset called the “Endeavour” and this could signal a massive change for HTC smartphones. This doesn’t appear to be the HTC Ville that has been leaked multiple times, as Android Modaco reports that the HTC Endeavour will pack a massive 4.7-inch screen with a 720p HD resolution, will run Android Ice Cream Read more

Google to launch Dropbox-rival cloud service called Drive

Google is rumored to be launching a cloud-storage service that would compete head-to-head with wildly popular cloud provider Dropbox, SugarSync and others. The search giant’s cloud service will be called Drive and it’ll not only be free to consumers up to a certain size limit but it will also be folded into Google Apps for enterprise customers. Drive will offer users some cool features out the gate, like the ability to store photos, documents and videos on Google’s servers so that they could be accessible from any Web-connected device, according Read more

Rumor: Here’s a photo of the back of the iPad 3; it isn’t getting a quad core chip

Apple’s third generation tablet is set to be announced within a matter of weeks, at least we think it is because March is the month that Apple has used in the past to launch both the first and second generation iPad. For as long we can remember there have been rumors suggesting that it’s going to look exactly like the iPad 2, except that under the hood there’s going to be a quad core processor and that the screen resolution will be increased to an absolutely ridiculous resolution of 2048 Read more

Nokia 801: Are they seriously going to release a Symbian device that looks like the Lumia 800?

It’s bad enough that the Nokia Lumia 800 looks exactly like the Nokia N9, now rumors suggest that Nokia is going to release a Symbian running device called the Nokia 801. Said smartphone is a picture perfect image of the N9 and Lumia 800, except that it has a 4 inch screen that does 640 x 360 pixels, 12 megapixel camera, and will be the first Symbian device that can record 1080p video. Under the hood there’s a 1.4 GHz processor paired up with 512 MB of RAM, though we Read more

Samsung Galaxy S III to land in May with 7mm thin profile

While we may not see the Samsung Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress this year, some more details about the highly anticipated handset have been revealed that may make your geeky mouth water. Or not. With the prospects of a quad-core Galaxy S III, the expectations for the handset are already pretty high. We can also expect something similar to the Galaxy Nexus’ display, which is a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED  HD panel. Now we’re hearing that Samsung’s next flagship phone may come in at a ridiculously thin 7mm thick. Read more

Samsung Galaxy S II Plus in works?

File this under “rumors,” but if we don’t see the new Galaxy S III unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (and we won’t), we may get a slightly improved version of the existing Galaxy S II. Apparently, a certain Galaxy S 2+ showed up in An3DBenchXL’s benchmark database, with WVGA display and a processor clocking at 1.5GHz. Now we know that the original Galaxy S II rocks a 1.2GHz Exynos CPU, but there are some U.S. models with a more powerful 1.5GHz processor (T-Mobile’s version) and even a Read more

Are handset makers delaying launches because of iPhone 4S demand?

I think it’s safe to say that the iPhone 4S was anything but the disappointment some bloggers and analysts originally expected. There’s endless articles on how much of a success Apple’s latest smartphone has been and demand has been so strong, in fact, rumors are now spouting that other handset manufacturers are pushing their phone launches until at least the Q2 2012. For their sake, hopefully the iPhone hype will cool down a bit by then. According to a report from DigiTimes, vendors from around the globe including Samsung, HTC, Nokia, Read more

Galaxy S III (I9300) caught at Samsung’s website?

While we’re still not 100% sure Samsung will use Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to launch the Galaxy S III, such a device has been caught at the company’s UAE website, or so we think. The phone marked as GT-I9300 certainly smells like the next phone in the series, considering the I9000 marks the original Galaxy S, I9100 is the Galaxy S II, and I9250 – Galaxy Nexus. See where this pattern goes and why we believe the I9300 is the Galaxy S III? Now just because some device got Read more

Verizon’s ZTE V66 LTE Android tablet caught at Bluetooth SIG

Just like Sprint which will soon get the ZTE V55 Optik, Verizon Wireless also wants an affordable tablet in its portfolio. And that would be ZTE V66, which we caught at the Bluetooth SIG. Specs wise, we’re talking about a device that’s almost identical to what Sprint will be launching, with its specs that include a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 7-inch 1280×800 pixels touchscreen, 4,000 mAh battery, dual camera, LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity; while Android 3.2 Honeycomb is running the show (most likely upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich). Unfortunately we don’t Read more
