Contact UsIt’s been rumored for a couple of years now, but it looks like Apple is finally cutting cords with the competition. 9to5Mac has uncovered that in iOS 6, Apple will ditch Google Maps in favor of a custom-tailored Maps application of its own. Apple is working on a mapping database so it will no longer have to rely on Google’s backend to power the Maps app on iOS. Since Apple and Google have been fighting back and forth over accusations that Android copies from iOS (if you’re just learning of this … Read more

It looks like Sprint will be seriously beefing up its portfolio of LTE devices later this year. The rumor is that the LG LS970 (internal name “LG G”) will be joining the Now Network at some point in the fourth quarter of this year. What makes this an interesting news is that this is the first time we’re hearing about a smartphone that packs both a quad-core processor and LTE radio — if you look at the HTC One X for example, its LTE version rocks Qualcomm’s dual-core Snapdragon S4 … Read more
Samsung SGH-i667 aka Mandel, the Windows Phone we thought will be unveiled at CES, has been caught the in wild, as you’re about to see from the image below. Moreover, the same device has seen connected up to Zune Desktop, as illustrated in the image above. As far as we know (and we really don’t know that much), it’s not a high-end phone, boasting just 8GB of built-in storage. In that sense, it could’ve been a successor to the Focus Flash or something like that. Moreover, we’re not sure whether … Read more
iLounge recently picked up some “insider information” on the next iPhone. According to the report, Apple’s sixth-generation handset will support all the rumors lately by having a 4-inch display, but it will also apparently have an odd glass back with a metal plate in the middle. Does anyone actually believe this? I don’t mean to put down iLounge, but let’s look at this from a logical standpoint. Putting a metal plate on the back of an iPhone with glass above and below it doesn’t seem like something Apple would ever do. … Read more
After Panasonic and Fujitsu, one other Japanese handset maker is going for the rest of the world – NEC, which along with Casio and Hitachi mobile divisions formed NEC Casio Mobile Communications in 2010 and is now the second largest phone maker in Japan. Their new device, NEC Medias 101T, has been caught at the Bluetooth SIG and as far as we know it looks very similar to the NEC Medias 101S, the phone that was introduced in early April in Thailand. That said, we’re talking about a mid-range Android … Read more
Ok now we think we have the real photo of the Samsung Galaxy SIII. As you can see from the image above, the model number GT-I9300 will come with a rounded glass, small home button and two touch-based buttons at the bottom. Moreover, it is said that the new Galaxy phone will come with a 12-megapixel camera on the back, super-thin body (thinner than the Galaxy S II), while Android 4.0.4 will run the show out of box. In addition, there are some sort of LED lights below the screen, … Read more
File this under rumors, but it seems the world’s most famous birds will meet the world’s most famous family — the word on the street is that one of the upcoming Angry Birds Space updates will feature Homer. What else that Donut-shaped planet could mean? When asked about this, Rovio answered that it “doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation – but this isn’t far-fetched by any means.” Sounds like a “yes” to me, though you never know. The fact is that the Finnish game maker has already co-operated with Fox … Read more
Sony is apparently preparing a new low-end Android smartphone marked as ST21i. The information comes from the TechBlog.gr, which was kinda enough to share two photos of the device. We don’t have all the information about this little fella’ but we do know it’s an entry-level device that rocks a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen, 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 3-megapixel camera, while Android 4.0 is running the show. And we thought Ice Cream Sandwich requires more RAM and faster CPU? Either we were dead wrong or the ST21i isn’t exactly the … Read more
Thanks to the savvy ninjas at TmoNews we (think we) know when the Magenta carrier will be releasing Ice Cream Sandwich updates for few of its phones, including the Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Amaze 4G. The leaked document suggests Sammy’s baby will get Android 4.0 on May 14th, with HTC smartphones following two days later. But that’s not all – we also have T-Mobile’s list of upcoming devices. Here’s what it has: 5/9 – Huawei Astro – low end handset 7/11 – Huawei Buddy – … Read more
