Contact UsMicrosoft will release a major platform update for Windows Phone 8 later this year to include support for full HD 1080p displays and quad-core processors. This in turn would make Windows Phone hardware on par with high-end Android devices, which have been relying on quad-core CPUs for over a year. At the moment Windows Phone 8 supports WVGA, WXGA and 720p resolutions, and the inclusion of 1080p opens prospects for phablets running Microsoft’s mobile platform. Meanwhile, more powerful quad-core CPUs will provide the processing power needed to keep things running … Read more

Few days ago we’ve shown you how the upcoming Nokia Lumia 928 will look like and now have it in another color – white. Again, Verizon’s version of Lumia 920 will rock a slightly thinner body (10.2 vs 10.7 millimeters), OLED-based screen and an additional Xenon flash that will likely be used for taking photos (cause we still have a LED-based one for video recording). Rest of the specs will include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 3G/4G (LTE) + Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS and a microSD memory card slot. … Read more
In its blog post at the company’s website, Microsoft’s Corporate VP of Corporate Communications Frank X. Shaw welcomed Facebook’s people-centric Android launcher Facebook Home, adding that users are still better off using a Windows Phone. The reason, he says, is that Microsoft’s platform goes beyond Facebook, allowing users to also integrate their Twitter, LinkedIn and Skype accounts. He went on to say that he understands Facebook’s decision to take this route to “find a way to bring similar [to Windows Phone] functionality to a platform that is sadly lacking it.” … Read more
We’ve already told you that Verizon Wireless will get Nokia Lumia 928 later this year, most likely within a week or so. Previous information suggested it will have an aluminum body but that apparently won’t be the case, according the leaked images provided by EVleaks. Rather, the Lumia 928 will keep using polycarbonate though the phone’s body will be slightly thinner, dropping from 10.7 to 10.2 millimeters. The aluminum will have to wait for some future Nokia smartphone. In addition, the Lumia 928 will also rock a Xenon flash in … Read more
Some time ago we’ve told you that US Cellular will join Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 ride and launch such smartphone at some point in the future. Apparently that could happen in the next few days or weeks with Samsung SCH-R860U getting FCC’s seal approval and effectively making the device ready to be sold on the U.S. soil. But how we know this phone is slated to hit US Cellular’s portfolio? We don’t have that information confirmed, only the hint of Japanese Blog of Mobile. Then again, we tend to believe … Read more

Looks like Nokia is preparing a new version of the Lumia 920 that will be available in select markets. The Finnish company’s flagship device in Spearmint green has surfaced on Nokia Jordan’s Facebook page and we like it a lot. As far as we know, there won’t be any changes under the hood and the only change could be that this model comes with some special “Spearmint content” preloaded. Who knows, perhaps Nokia bundles a pack of bubble gums with the Lumia 920 purchase. That would be a novel idea… … Read more

What you can see from the image above could be the next Nokia flagship device, Lumia 950. As you can imagine, it will build on top of the Lumia 920′s specs, boasting a large screen with 1,280×768 resolution – 1080p full HD is still not supported by Windows Phone 8. In addition, we’re hearing this Lumia smartphone will also have a powerful camera with Xenon flash, making it one of the best (if not the best) camera phones on the market. Plus, let’s not forget 2GB of RAM that will … Read more
