Chrome for Android Updated: Features Speed Improvements, Fullscreen Mode on Smartphones

Yesterday, Chrome was updated for the desktop, and today Google has updated the Chrome browser for Android as well. Rdio updates iOS app with Find People feature and cleaner UI

Music subscription service Rdio brought a small but welcome update to its iOS app today. It has an improved search feature, an easy way to find friends and artists, and a cleaner user interface for navigating. The improved UI mainly comes in for the side navigation. Samsung launches $800,000 app competition for Galaxy S4

Samsung has launched a global app competition to get new apps for its recently unveiled Galaxy S4 smartphone. Developers looking to win some cash and extra exposure should take advantage of the Samsung Chord SDK, which is used to create ad-hoc groups with multi-devices in real-time. Pandora today launched a new service called Pandora Premieres, which lets subscribers stream unreleased albums from well-established artist a week in advance. This comes after Google launched its own service called ‘All Access’ to the market at Google I/O last week. Android apps that have been simply ported to BlackBerry 10 are proving unpopular with users, BlackBerry’s head of developer relations, Alec Saunders said. 120,000 BlackBerry 10 apps now available in BlackBerry World

BlackBerry World app store now counts 120,000 BlackBerry 10 apps that work on the company’s Z10 and Q10 smartphones (as well as the upcoming Q5). The new platform was launched with 70,000 apps “on board” with another 50,000 submitted in the next four months.
