Motorola did say it plans to make its upcoming XFON available on a number of carriers and in that sense we’ve already heard about few different variants of the device: Verizon will get the XT1060, XT1056 is coming to Sprint, and the XT1058 is heading to AT&T.

A new version of the XFON, marked as XT1055, has been caught at the FCC and we tend to believe this one’s destined for US Cellular.

Of course, we still have no idea when each of the carriers mentioned above will officially announce the new phone, and it’s likely up to Motorola to decide when that will happen (when their device is ready for the prime time).

According to the specs we’ve heard before, the XFON will pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, 10-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing one, 720p HD screen, with Android 4.2.2 (or perhaps Android 4.3) running the show right from the get-go…

The F7 rocks a 4.7 inch 720p HD display and 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor. While we’re now in the world of 1080p displays and quad-core CPUs, the F7′s two most important specifications certainly won’t disappoint.

Other specs include 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8 megapixel camera, micro SD card slot, 2,540 mAh batter, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

So, if you live in the US Cellular coverage area, you may want to consider grabbing one of these. We think the Optimus F7 is one of the best smartphones in the mid-end of the market…

LG Optimus F7 is not only coming to Boost Mobile, but also to US Cellular, according to leaked company documents Engadget managed to snap. Announced alongside Optimus F5, the F7 is a solid mid-ranger with a 4.7-inch 720p HD screen, LTE connectivity support, 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 8-megapixel camera on the back (in addition to 1.3MP front-facing one). We’ve no idea how much US Cellular will ask for the F7 nor when exactly it will be launched.

In the other LG news, we’re hearing (from EVleaks) that the still unannounced Optimus F6 may be heading to T-Mobile USA. While we’ve no idea what that phone is all about, it makes sense it’s better than the F5 and worse than the F7. The F7′s specs are listed above, let’s recap what’s F5 all about: it has a 4.3-inch qHD display, 1GB of RAM and 1.2GHz dual-core processor. So we presume the F6 may have F5′s guts and a larger qHD screen; or F7′s guts with smaller 720p HD screen; or… feel free to drop your guess in the comments form below. We’ll naturally let you know as soon as we have something new on this. Stay tuned…

It is said that the carrier will offer unlimited voice calls for only $19.99 a month, and that money also gets you voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding, three-way calling and E911 service.
The Hydro Xtrm sports a dual-core Snapdragon 1.2 GHz processor, a 5 Megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3 Megapixel front-facing shooter. It also includes 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, which is expandable to 32 GB via a microSD card. It also boasts Kyocera’s Smart Sonic Receiver technology, which boosts audio clarity and quality.

The Hydro Xtrm operates on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and was surprisingly fast considering the mid-range spec sheet. The 4-inch IPS WVGA display is very sharp and clear, and showed no signs of lag or slowdown while navigating through the app drawer or home screen panels. The device felt comfortable to hold in the hand, and even though the device had some heft to it, it didn’t feel too heavy.

The Kyocera Hydro Xtrm is now available online for $29.99 after a mail-in rebate and a new two-year service agreement, and will be available in U.S. Cellular stores on May 24th.

U.S. Cellular long ago confirmed plans to eventually release a Windows Phone 8 device on its network. A recent comment made by the carrier on its Facebook page suggests the first one is finally on its way.

After posting a photo of a Samsung phone on the page, a Facebook user simply commented on the photo with the message “Get Windows Phone.” About 30 minutes later, U.S. Cellular responded confirming that it is “working on the launch of a Windows 8 device.” For all intents and purposes, I think it’s safe to assume U.S. Cellular meant Windows Phone 8.

The comment came from Liz of the carrier’s Social Team. She continues, “We do not have information that we can share quite yet on the timing or the device details. We hope to have more information to share in the next month, stay tuned, we will announce it here on Facebook first.” Rumor has it the model of the first Windows Phone 8 phone to hit U.S. Cellular is the Samsung SCH-R860U, which cleared the FCC a few weeks ago.

The carrier first expressed interest in adding Windows Phone 8 devices to its lineup in July 2012, stating that Windows Phone 8 “will be an important part of our device lineup going forward.” It has yet to act upon that, though we might see a change by the end of May.

A company spokesperson turned to Facebook to spread the news without going into much details, like which Windows Phone will they get to carry. The chances are they’ll end-up with one of Nokia Lumia devices though some other model may also get a shot.
