I am the owner of that horn

scobleholdingcourt 1 I am the owner of that horn

Reading Fake Steve Jobs and I came across a blog post where he says, and I quote:

“I mean, Holy friggin mother of Jesus, what the fuck is that? Is it a horn sprouting out of his skull? Is he some kind of man-unicorn hybrid? If you rub his bump will it bring you good luck?”

Dear FSJ, that is my horn and I would appreciate that you didn’t insult him (joking of course). The guy sitting right next to Scoble is my best friend Greg, we were both at the Podtech Bloghaus talking about the iPhone, Web 2.0, you name it. I remember that day vividly because it was the first time I met Robert Scoble in real life and I turned into a stuttering baffon because it was just an awesome experiance. I saw Dave Winer at the party too, but was too afraid to say hi. To be honest Dave looks like an intimidating person when he bangs away at a keyboard which is what he essentially did during the entire duration of the party.

Those Newcastle’s on the table are one of many and I would like to thank Podtech for holding that awesome party and look forward to coming to the one in 2008, yes ladies and gentlemen I’m going to CES.

At the end of the day I feel amazed that I got bashed by FSJ, that really does touch my heart, in a good way.

N-Gage September launch date retracted; Typo or slip up?

By Stefan Constantinescu on Monday, February 5th, 2007 at 10:19 PM PST
In CES 2007

48 hours ago Nokia (NYSE: NOK) had this to say about N-Gage:

We expect EA Mobile and Gameloft to bring a number of top-selling, award winning titles to our platform between our launch in September
and the end of 2007. They aren’t the only ones, as throughout the year
we will continue to make exciting announcements of other leading
publishers adding their titles to our games catalogue.

Today they say this:

We expect EA Mobile and Gameloft to bring a number of top-selling, award winning titles to our platform between now and our launch. They aren’t the only ones, as throughout the year we will continue to make exciting announcements of other leading publishers adding their titles to our games catalogue.

Hmmm … what is going on? Typo or did "ikona" reveal too much?

More CES videos with Robert Scoble, Greg, and me

By Stefan Constantinescu on Friday, January 26th, 2007 at 12:25 PM PST
In CES 2007, Videos

These have been on the net since the 11th of January and I’ve only discovered them now.

In this video we can clearly see that having an N93 equates to immediate attention from beautiful women. Even she says she wished the N93 had a QWERTY keyboard!

The iPhone doesn’t have 3G technology, and only half of Americans can use it since the other half of the population uses either Sprint (NYSE: S) of Verizon (NYSE: VZ):

We discuss threaded sms, something the iPhone does, something that Treo’s do, something that for the life of me I can’t figure out why Nokia (NYSE: NOK) doesn’t:

Greg pretty much sums up Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) loyalists:

Video: Robert Scoble, Greg, and Me talking about the iPhone

By Stefan Constantinescu on Friday, January 26th, 2007 at 9:46 AM PST
In CES 2007, Devices, Videos

I can’t believe this video hit the net! Some background information: this was shot at the Bellagio in Las Vegas during the BlogHaus party. Greg is my best friend who came to CES with me. He doesn’t write for Ring Nokia (NYSE: NOK) exactly, but he is definitely is a source of inspiration for a few of my posts. Not to mention his grasp on the English system of grammar is vastly superior to mine, so as a proof reader he is brilliant. We debate, argue, praise, and slam everything that runs on electricity on a daily basis. It is the staple of our friendship. Regularly in our conversations he brings the view in from a consumer perspective, while I usually bring the hardcore, power user perspective, to the table.

That is where our ideas clash and that is why he is my best friend. Why would I want to talk to someone who agreed with everything that came out of my mouth?

UPDATE: Some people have told me that this video is freezing at certain points. Different people tell me different points. You can try watching the video at blip.tv or you can download the MP4 file directly. Little over 485 MB ;-)

Well this uploaded faster than I thought. In this video, shot on a Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N93, I basically talk about my impressions of the N76, N93i and N800 which were released at CES, and just get comfortable with you guys.

I hope you enjoy it! Let me know if you would like more of these type of videos:

You can download the 50 MB mp4 file directly, but since I’m at school and I have an upload speed blessed by the Internet gods I’ve taken the liberty of uploading it to youtube.

Sadly I don’t have any audio since I never bring headphones with me. Watching this without listening is quite painful. Guess I’ll have to wait until I get home! Thanks for the video mate!

UPDATE: Apparently he already put it up on youtube! I’m going to delete my video now and link you to his instead.

Nokia N800 is one of Popular Science’s best of CES 2007

By Stefan Constantinescu on Friday, January 19th, 2007 at 2:26 PM PST
In CES 2007

The iPhone got the hype, but the surprise early unveiling of the N800, Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s successor to its 770 Internet tablet, might just be what the gadget-fiends find themselves lusting over when the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) dust settles. Though not a phone, the N800 packs everything the Internet has to offer—including a full-featured browser, e-mail, chat, VoIP calling with video and more—into a sleek touchscreen tablet. Best of all, it runs the endlessly customizable Linux, ensuring that no one but you is able to dictate what can or can’t be done.

PopSci loves this thing, remember an earlier post where they called the 770 a HackBerry?

I’m curious to know how many N770’s sold and what the sales goal is for the N800. I’ll probably never find out!

Video: Nokia NFC demo … absolutley amazing

I don’t even know where to start with this one, my head is spinning at Mach 10 with the possibilities NFC creates.

NOTE: I read phone scoop all the time and I’m pretty sure they haven’t blogged about this video yet … weird. Props to them for producing this.

HD (720P) Videos of the Nokia N93i, N76, N800 and N95 at CES

By Stefan Constantinescu on Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 at 1:03 PM PST
In CES 2007, Devices, Videos

Before you even click anything I just want to give a huge thanks to Nicolas for posting these AMAZING quality videos.

Poor guy is probably getting his server hammered right now! I’m maxing out my 3 megabit connection just fine.

Direct link N95 4 minutes 13 seconds 108 MB

Direct link N93i and N76 5 minutes 29 seconds 141 MB

Direct link N800 16 minutes 12 seconds 423 MB

Now I contacted the owner of this blog, seeing as how he uploaded all three of these to Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Video. Sadly the N800 video didn’t properly transcode on Google’s end and cuts off after just 14 seconds. He’s in the process of reuploading that now. I’ll update this post once that goes live. The other two videos however made it thru just fine:
