Contact UsWith Google I/O just around the corner, tech enthusiasts worldwide are starting to get excited about what Google will be debuting at the event. Google’s annual developers conference has traditionally been the place where Google unveils its new and exciting technology and gadgets, and we have plenty to be excited about this year. A revamped version of the Nexus 7 tablet is being speculated to make its appearance at the event, keeping the best features of Google’s iPad killer with a few enhancements. The next iteration of the Nexus 7 … Read more
Don’t hold your breath for new devices unveiled during next month’s Google I/O. According to SidhTech’s report, we ain’t gonna see neither the Nexus 5 nor Motorola X phone announced at that time. Rather, the search giant will show us the updated version of the Nexus 4, featuring 32GB of internal storage and LTE connectivity support. I would also guess a slightly beefed-up version of the Nexus 7 will be on display, featuring Qualcomm’s rather than NVidia’s processor inside. I’m just hoping that both of these devices will sports Qualcomm’s … Read more
Today I’m attending BlackBerry’s developer event in Belgrade, Serbia, which is organized by the company’s Balkan developer network. Even though the Canadian company was losing market share in the last few years, they’re eager to tell everyone they’re a different company now, one that has a brand new platform to compete in today’s market. We had a chance to watch the live demo of select BlackBerry 10 features, including the sexy-new UI called Flow with the “Peak” preview capability, TimeShift camera mode (licensed from Scalado, as far as I’ve understood) … Read more

So what can we expect to see tomorrow? First … Read more

It’s time that we wrap-up with this year’s Mobile World Congress. First thing we’ll say is that we’re sad to see that the big event is no longer the place where the majority of handset makers announce their products, with two giants like HTC and Samsung both using their own shows for that occasion (at least for their flagship products). On the other hand, there were other new device like Asus’ Padfone Infinity and FonePad, Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 720, to name the few. Still, none of them made … Read more
Samsung used its annual developer day at Mobile World Congress to announce the new Samsung Wallet app. We don’t have all the details yet but as far as we’ve understood, it’s an app made to rival Apple’s Passbook, allowing user to securely store important information such as tickets, boarding passes, cards and coupons. The API will be released in May of this year and in the meantime only a select group of developers can try it out, and eventually tie-in their apps with Sammy’s service/app. It remains to be seen … Read more

Speaking in a keynote at Mobile World Congress, Jolla CEO Marc Dillon said that the mobile industry is in “what may be the last step in the golden age of ecosystems – what is happening now is that everybody is getting squeezed”. According to Dillon, operators have a fear of turning to dump pipes when their margins would shrink significantly, and when the number one question for users will be “where can I get the biggest, cheapest plan.” He said that to tackle this problem, companies should embrace openness as … Read more
Qualcomm, the “Great and Powerful,” was Snapdragon-ing every visitor to its booth. You couldn’t turn your head not to see some solution powered by Qualcomm’s processors. At one point I even thought my oven uses a Snapdragon chip. That’s how hard they’re pushing their solutions. And, of course, the semiconductor giant has all reasons to be happy about its business, which is booming like never before. Most handset makers (at least those which don’t make their own chips) opt for Qualcomm processors for their mid- to high-end devices. Heck, with … Read more
Intel is pretty much desperately trying to get into mobile game. Their latest partners, Asus and Lenovo, could help them in their plans but they still have a long way to go. Simply put, ARM-based processors are used by most handset makers. And although Intel is pushing it hard, it has yet to come out with a processor fast enough to compete in the high-end market. And to excite the mobile industry press. That could change at some point in the future, and in the meantime, Intel prepared quite a … Read more
