Contact UsThe Samsung Galaxy S4 is Android’s flagship phone, but some people balk at Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. Purists that enjoy the pure flavor of Android will appreciate the newly announced developer edition of the Galaxy S4. Unveiled at Google I/O 2013, the new S4 will run the latest version of Android and will receive updates through Google. This means owners will get the latest and greatest version of Android right away and won’t have to wait for Samsung to customize TouchWiz. It’ll have an unlocked bootloader and support both T-Mobile and AT&T frequencies. The … Read more
Samsung may not make the next Nexus phone but that doesn’t mean it’s done with making devices running the stock Android OS. One such smartphone will apparently be on display at Google I/O later today and it will be called the Galaxy S4 Google Edition. It’s the same Galaxy S4 under the hood without the Korean company’s proprietary software running on top of Android core. You may think that’s even better but let’s not forget some of the cool technologies that come on the “standard” Galaxy S4 like Smart Stay, … Read more
Verizon announced today that the Galaxy S4 will be available on May 23rd, a full week before the previous release date of May 30 but still nearly a month later than other carriers. Verizon customers (myself included) have gotten used to waiting a little longer for the new, hot phones and this time is no exception. Verizon’s been accepting pre orders for the new Galaxy phones but they weren’t to ship until the 30th. So whatever finagling they’ve done to bump things up a week, it’s greatly appreciated! Here’s the text of … Read more
Samsung has been hard at work on developing a new 5G Millimeter-wave transceiver technology that will substantially increase the data speeds across the globe. The technology transmits data in the millimeter-wave band at a frequency of 28 GHz, and provides a speed of up to 1.056 Gbps to a distance of up to 2 kilometers. The new 5G tech uses 64 antenna elements, which provide a viable solution for dealing with radio propagation loss. Samsung is accelerating its research of the 5G technology, and hopes to put those technologies in … Read more

BBC Watchdog is preparing to analyze the hot-new Samsung Galaxy S4 on BBC1 at 8PM on Wednesday May 15th. The video teaser suggests the show will focus on the handset’s memory size. The Watchdog host Anne Robinson had this to say: Samsung, it claims its brand new Galaxy phone has an extra large memory, but what did it forget to mention? Yup, it seems BBC will discuss users’ complaints about the built-in storage claims. You see, the 16GB version of the Galaxy S4 comes with just 9.5GB of free storage … Read more
You may’ve heard about Samsung SideSync, a neat software that practically connects your Samsung Galaxy smartphone with your PC, allowing you to use PC’s keyboard and mouse with the phone, as well as to copy text from computer and directly paste it in the phone. Moreover, SideSync also supports phone screen sharing so you can use the phone virtually on a PC. Yeah it sounds kinda confusing, but worry not – the Korean company released a short demo video to explain it all. There’s one important caveat, though. As I’m … Read more
Samsung has started rolling out Jelly Bean update for Galaxy Tab 7.7 in some parts of the world. Users of the 3G version living in select Asian countries — including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and Malaysia — are now able to cram Android 4.1.2 onto their devices either over-the-air or using Sammy’s infamous Kies software. The official changelog hasn’t been released (at least we haven’t caught it) but we know you can expect all of the Jelly Bean goodies, including improved and actionable push notifications, Google Now and Project … Read more
A new, still unannounced Samsung Galaxy smartphone has been caught at the Korean company’s website. Called Galaxy Centura, it’s a low-end device with specs that include an HVGA screen, 3-megapixel camera, 800MHz single-core processor, 4GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 1500mAh battery and a microSD card slot. The strange part is that it will be sold with stock Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich without Samsung’s infamous TouchWiz UI running on top. That would be an exception rather than the rule since all smartphones sold by the Korean giant come with … Read more
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom (model number SM-C1010 / SM-C101) has been caught at the Bluetooth SIG where it’s described as “Samsung Mobile Phone” (rather than “Samsung Digital Camera”). Unfortunately, the listing isn’t all that revealing and all it says is that the device will sing along Bluetooth 4.0. Earlier reports suggested the Galaxy S4 Zoom will have a smaller-than-Galaxy S4 screen and 16x optical zoom. It’s likely some quad-core processor will reside under the hood alongside an array of sensors and radios. Samsung may officially announce the Galaxy … Read more
Apple is “extending” its legal battle with Samsung (and Google) by asking a judge to force Google to turn over documents related to its Android operating system. As part of its second patent-infringement lawsuit against Samsung, the Cupertino-based company argues that Android is used in all of Samsung’s allegedly infringing products and “provides much of the accused functionality.” According to Apple’s lawyer Mark Lyon, this is a question of transparency, and they [Apple] have concerns that Samsung (and Google) are not doing a full search. Matthew Warren, a lawyer for … Read more
