Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 OS is showing increased market share in the smartphone market, despite the domination of the smartphone market by OS’s such as Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. SFPD Uses Undercover Cops Selling iPhones on the Street in Attempt to Curb Smartphone Thefts

In an attempt to curb stolen smartphone sales, San Francisco police officers are using a tactic that they hope will shock and awe those who buy stolen iPhones out of doing so. The SFPD is sending out plainclothes officers to some of the rougher areas of SF, offering “stolen” iPhones to unwitting civilians. When someone shows interest in purchasing the device, the cops make an arrest. Qualcomm Q2 2013 Earnings Skyrocket Thanks To Mobile Market

Qualcomm is profiting handsomely from the uptick in smartphone sales over the last year, reporting a revenue jump of 24 percent from its Q2 2013 earnings report which was posted today.
