I’ve looked at the Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth Headset in hands-on text/pics review (here), but thought you might like something a bit more multimedia – hence the vid:
Completing a trio of ‘hands-on’ reviews this week is the Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth Headset. Quite a distinctive little number, with a medium-long boom on it, and some very stylised lines to it – oh, and the case doubles as a charger! Interested? Read on….!
I recently had some news through about the Altec Lansing InMotion Classic IMT620, which I posted up. Basically it’s an iPhone/iPod speaker stand, including both an FM Radio, and the ability to take an AUX input – a handy variety of options then! Well now I’ve had one for a while, I have some thoughts to share:
What looks like the world’s largest spare battery for the iPhone is available for 60 bucks. Even though it looks easily attachable to the bottom of your beloved handset, I doubt many people will actually carry it around on a daily basis. However, when travelling this “little” accessory could prove to be very useful, especially when you consider the battery’s capacity which is 3000 mAh. In other words, that’s enough power to recharge your iPhone for 2.5 times. That’s something, right?
Anyway, it’s called “Super Charger for iPhone” and you should be extra careful not to point that thing to other people. It doesn’t shoot, but it’s certainly dangerous.
OtterBox has just released a new addition to their Defender Series… The Defender Series case for the Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Treo Pro! The case consists of three layers. The first is a clear, hi-impact polycarbonate that covers the screen and camera. This protects against scratching and dust. The second layer is the hi-impact polycarbonate shell (super durable)… and the last layer is the silicone skin you wrap around the entire package. It provides shock and bump protection, and has an awesome feel to it. If you want to step up the protection on your Palm Treo Pro to the next level, you can never go wrong with an OtterBox. True, you’ll have some added bulk… But if you’re constantly dropping or damaging your device, it’s a worthwhile investment.
You can pick up the Defender Series Case for the Palm Treo Pro at OtterBox for $49.95.
Zeemote, the folks behind the mobile gaming controller, announced a new version (actually that’s a variation) of its product. It’s marked as Zeemote V3 and it’s especially optimized to work with Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) handsets — including the upcoming Yari, Aino and Satio, as well as the eco-friendly Naite.
In addition to providing easier gameplay, the Zeemote V3 can also be used for navigating phone menus, interacting with apps, controlling camera, web surfing, music and video playback, and more. Plus, with the Aino you can use the Zeemote to control some functions of the PS3…
You can get more information about Zeemote and their products from their website.
Altec Lansing was pretty busy last month – as well as the InMotion Classic, they have also been building out their Orbit range of speakers. The Orbit-M (connecting via 3.5mm jack), and the Orbit USB (USB connection surprisingly enough) are ultra-portable, yet have a surprisingly bug sound field too!
The Orbit boasts Altec Lansing’s Audio Alignment™ design, which is the precise balance and craftsmanship of the key audio components — the driver, the enclosure and the electronics. The sonic result is astounding volume, clarity and depth in a small system. The circular shape provides a 360-degree sound field and the retractable stand aims the audio wherever wanted. Built to survive tough travel conditions, the Orbit USB includes a stylish neoprene case with hook-on carabiner as well as tangle-free cord storage.
The Altec Lansing Orbit-M is £29.99, and the Orbit-USB is £9.99 – you can get them both from www.alteclansing.com. For more information on the complete autumn 2009 audio collection from Altec Lansing, visit www.alteclansing.com – there’s also a review of the Orbit-M due soon!
