With all the counterfeit mobile phones coming out of China, you’d think we’d be desensitized to tasteless cellphones by now. We wish that were true. Unfortunately, atrocities like this here Michael Jackson phone are hard to ignore. It’s decked out in fake gold, fake diamonds, and enough decorative homages to “The King of Pop” to offend the even tackiest gold-chain wearing rappers. To top it all off, the phone comes with a DVD of one of Michael Jackson’s live performances. We’ll leave it to you to decide if the DVD is legit or pirated.

If you’re thinking of picking up one of these Michael Jackson phones as a joke (we can’t imagine anyone wanting one for daily use), you’re going to have to find a way to import one from China. We have to admit, the phone would get some good laughs in our circle of friends.

• Lenovo (OTCPK: LNVGY) O1 clone – I’m not sure this is a clone at all. It looks quite legit, but you should be warned that this is the China only device at this stage and if you see it available for purchase elsewhere, it’s probably a fake.
• Another Transformers mobile phone ripoff – all-touchscreen model which proudly bears the Transformers logo on the back. No license fees were paid, as far as we know.
• Lamborghini clock mobile phone ripoff – it’s a clamshell, it’s a watch, it has a Raging Bull on the front, yet the quality is spotty, to say the least.
• Another Ferrari mobile phone ripoff – that numeric keypad which goes in circle is ridiculous for anything Ferrari branded, gotta admit.
• Snoopy mobile phone ripoff – this actually looks pretty cool. You can think of it as a perfect handset for children. Too bad it’s a clone.

• WALL-E mobile phone ripoff – all-touchscreen handset which seems to have S60-like icons. Is it a Symbian device? I doubt, but you never know.
• Touch Pro 2 clone – Looks pretty much identical, although icons on the buttons are gray, as opposed to white.

All of the devices mentioned come with a touchscreen (except the iPhone with full QWERTY ripoff), Bluetooth support, microSD memory card slot and so on. As usual, we must warn you of the spotty quality usually known for these kinds of phones. Avoiding buying them is your best bet…

This week we present you with three completely stupid clone phones. Here’s why I think so:

• Hummer mobile phone – there are two Hummer phones but they have that Hummer look and feel. This one, however, looks like a regular candybar with a simple Hummer sign, and that’s it. I doubt any Hummer owner would grab it.
• Blackberry (NSDQ: RIMM) Windows Mobile phone – you wish… or not. Why anyone would put the BlackBerry logo here is beyond me. It’s super-obvious it’s fake.
• Wodafone Google (NSDQ: GOOG) mobile phone – Yap, that’s “W” and not “V” on this HTC Magic clone. If there were not for that “minor detail,” a regular person (i.e. not a phone freak like me) would be easily tricked into buying.

Again, under no circumstances buy any of the phones above. You’ll regret if you do…

• Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N89i ripoff – actually it’s called NOKLA N89i and as you can see for yourself, it “borrows” few lines from the Nokia N97.
• Rolex mobile phone ripoff – it’s a clamshell with a big watch put on the place of the external screen. Super ugly!
• Nokia E68 ripoff – mobile TV ready device? It’s called NCKLA E68 and it also comes with a BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) button? Go figure.
• Goldvish 8808 clone – those not familiar should know that Goldvish makes uber-expensive phones, and the clone device doesn’t come even close. Plus it’s fugly.

It’s my duty to warn you not to buy any of the phones presented above and in the previous weeks. Quality is spotty to say the least, and the warranty you get with the purchase is as useful as GM shares these days…

• Nokia (NYSE: NOK) E76 dual slider ripoff – E76? dual-slider? C’mon, only few NSeries devices come with that.
• Vertu Jaguar ripoff – it’s not a first fake Jaguar phone we’ve seen, but the first one which is also a Vertu device. Looks like the Nokia 8800 to me.
• Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) W705 clone – keys look pretty much identical, but the big “Bluetooth” sign clearly points it’s a fake phone.
• Diamond Nokia E71 clone – actually it’s NCKIA not NOKIA, and its keys are somewhat different from the original device. Heck, you can even say it looks more like the E55 than E71.

Just as we hinted last week, this time we’re dealing with fake Nokia (NYSE: NOK) phones, 5 of them to be more precise. Again — we’ve seen similar situations in the past — not all of the devices we’re going to present actually exist as original phones (actually only Nokia 8800 is clone in that sense). Still they borrow name, look and other elements of the Nokia brand and that makes them ripoffs. Let’s go:

• Nokia E86 L’Amour ripoff – it’s actually a decent looking phone for a ripoff. Kinda reminds me on the Moto RAZR, though it comes with Nokia logo and a touchscreen.
• Nokia 8800 Ferrari ripoff – and you thought no one can make the Nokia 8800 look ugly? Think again! This clone is available in red and blue color options and is actually called NOAIN. The font used is the one the Finnish giant uses.
• Nokia E91 ripoff – it’s called NCKAI and it resembles a non-existing phone. We’ve seen similar (original) devices running Windows Mobile, though.
• Nokia E69 ripoff – part of the “original” NCKIA Nseries, it’s an all-touchscreen clone no-one wants.
• Nokia N87 ripoff – another all-touchscreen handset, again “resembling” the nonexistent model.

• Sony Ericsson H700 Walkman ripoff – “H” in a Walkman name? There’s no such thing. Plus, this candybar looks pretty basic to me with Walkman logo being simply added on top of it.
• Sony Ericsson Aino clone – The fake Aino looks pretty much identical to the real thing. It is more plasticy, but overall even I could be tricked into believing it’s the phone made by the Swedes and Japanese.
• Sony Ericsson Satio clone – this is where it gets really ugly. The Satio is super-capable device, boasting a 12 megapixel camera and Symbian S60 5th edition, whereas the fake version doesn’t come even close.

That’s all we have in terms of details this week, and in this case “a picture is worth a thousand words.” If you’re into buying a Vertu phone, make sure to buy it in a Nokia Flagship Store or some other fancy place. These kind of devices shouldn’t be bought over Internet, as you do want an excellent service that comes with the purchase, right?

• Sony Ericsson W995 ripoff – the clone of one of the best feature phones on the market. This “version” seems to run some kind of Samsung’s TouchWIZ user interface. I doubt either Sony Ericsson or Samsung has anything to do with it.
• Louis Vuitton flip phone – nope, it’s not an original device, though I must admit it doesn’t look that bad. It’s a thin clamshell that reminds me on some Japanese models.
• Sony Ericsson Walkman ripoff – branding is stolen from Sony Ericsson, while some design lines root from low-end Nokia (NYSE: NOK) XpressMusic models.

And that’s all we got for you this week. As you can guess for yourself, most (if not all) of the devices above come with Bluetooth support, dual-SIM card slot, microSD memory expansion, media/music player, and so on. The only problem is the spotty quality, and that copyright infringement thing.

Remember the Meizu M8? The iPhone clone that tries to do everything the iPhone can, but can’t? Looks like Meizu might be heading in a new direction. We’re hearing rumblings that the Meizu M8 is getting geared up to run Android. Very interesting. An iPhone clone running the open source Android OS. I suspect those that enjoy the iPhone’s form-factor, but are disappointed in the lack of current Android hardware selection… might be tempted to give this a look if this actually happens.

You know how China has become the de facto land of counterfeit handsets and the source of headaches for some mobile phone makers’ legal departments? Right, well, yet another Chinese clone-maker is now pushing their questionable goods by playing off US President Obama’s love for his BlackBerry.

I hate covering counterfeit/fake/clone phones, but this one deserves a mention.

“Obama have BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM), I have BlockBerry” – goes the slogan on the BlockBerry ad. We’re going to go ahead and assume that these guys never got the go-ahead to use Obama’s image in their ad campaign. In fact, it’s unlikely these guys even speak a lick of English or even know where the White House is located.

The BlockBerry runs WinMo 6.1, has a 460Mhz processor, and sports GPS and WiFi. The specs sound decent, but there’s no way we’d every rock a “BlockBerry.” Imagine the snickers from iPhone 3G S owners…

• Samsung Pixon – what’s notable about this “version” is the optical zoom on the camera, though I doubt it makes better images when compared to the original device.
• LG KM900 Arena – unlike the original Arena which prides itself with WVGA touchscreen, this clone comes with a standard QVGA display and is much thicker.
• Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) Idou – don’t count on the Symbian Foundation platform with the fake device. Also forget about 12 megapixel camera and other goodies Idou aka Satio packs.
• Vertu K73 – I’m not sure whether this is a clone at all, since there’s no K73 model made by Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s luxury arm. Still, because it “borrows” the Vertu branding, we can’t consider it as a real contender.

Each of the devices presented boast Bluetooth support, microSD slot, some are even dual SIM-enabled, and all of them come with a warranty that is as good as Bear Sterns stock options…

This week we’re mixing it all together. Two fake Nokia (NYSE: NOK) devices are on the list and so are clones of certain Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE), Samsung and Motorola (NYSE: MOT) models. As you can see, there are no “holly cows” for Chinese handset makers cloners. Let’s roll:

• First comes the NOKLA E73, the device that clearly resembles Nokia E66, as you can see from the image bellow. There is no original Nokia E73 at the moment of this writing, but that doesn’t stop NOKLA from envisioning it.
• Then there’s another “futuristic” Nokia ripoff – the N99 model, which again doesn’t exists as a device made by the Finnish giant. The company behind this “project” think when this phone is released, it will be an all-touchscreen device.
• The popular belief says that NOKLA makes fake Nokia devices. That’s not necessarily true, as today we’re presenting you the handset which is called NOKLAK900+ and is actually “resemblance” of the Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-shot model.
• Fake Samsung S8300 is another device on our today’s list. Here we have something we could even call innovation, as the Chinese company behind the project thought Samsung forgot to add a dual-sliding mechanism to the device. They’ve fixed that in their “version.”
• Finally, Motorola Ming is cloned as well. What’s interesting about this clone is the presence of the Verizon (NYSE: VZ) logo. Weird.

As expected, all these phones come with QVGA touchscreen, Bluetooth support, microSD memory card support, and possibly two SIM card slots.

• VERTUFK9 – fake Rolex phone, which borrows some lines from Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s Vertu handsets.
• VERTUA16 – all-touchscreen Vertu phone? I don’t think so. If there is such thing, we would be all over it.
• New Mobiado phone? – Nah, it’s just a poor attempt to make something similar. High-end precious materials are not there, and the same goes for quality.

When it comes to fake devices “keeping your enemy closer” doesn’t work. Grab the real thing, instead.
