HTC One S first impressions – Powerful and smart in a small package

The One S is what you’d call the “middle of the road” in the new One line from HTC, but the handset is anything but mid-range. The handset packs a punch with its internal hardware, and demands attention with its simple and ultra thin profile. We recent got one of these bad boys sent to us and have been playing with it over the weekend. We will save all of the juicy details for the forthcoming official review but here is a few first impressions of the HTC One S. Read more

LG Optimus Elite renders appear – Bound for Sprint and Virgin Mobile

We’ve learned from past handsets made by the manufacturer that not all Optimus devices feature screaming specs, much like the handset you see above, the Optimus Elite (a Gelato variant). The flashy name nothing more than a red herring, but you can expect this mid-range device to land on Sprint and Virgin Mobile in the near future. The Optimus Elite isn’t a phone that you’re going to have a hard time passing up if you have your heart set on the likes of a HTC One X or other super Read more

HTC One X has its Galaxy S II moment in new ad

This moment in time, the most anticipated Android that’s set to be released within a week’s time is undoubtedly the HTC One X. A part of HTC’s new strategic shift, the One X is the most important phone the company has ever made, bringing it up to and surpassing “EVO” status. Well, a new ad for the handset line has hit YouTube (yet only shows the One X) and it looks like HTC took a few pointers from the Galaxy S II ad we saw last fall. The ad is Read more

Unbranded HTC One S running T-Mobile-ized Sense UI on video

While we already knew that T-Mobile would eventually carry the HTC One S at some juncture, we weren’t expecting to see the handset so soon in the wild. Actually, scratch that. What you see is indeed a HTC One S but it’s not a T-Mobile branded device. Still, the software on the screen looks mighty familiar and can only be from Team Magenta. The video is rather short but it definitely enough to get some potential buyers excited for its release. The One S may not be as incredible as Read more

Acer Iconia A510 brings Tegra 3, Android 4.0, and more for under $500

Acer has unveiled its next-generation tablet, and that tablet would be the Iconia A510. The tablet itself  is rocking the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and more, all packaged in a price that’s below $500. While it’s hard to say anything bad about the tablet itself, in the coming months, we’re going to see this tablet repackaged in many different ways from different manufacturers. In a way, this tablet is very cookie-cutter, much like the Honeycomb tablets we saw last year that basically all shared the same Read more

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will be available in select T-Mobile stores starting Mar. 21

While you wont find the guts of a Galaxy S II inside the Blaze 4G, be rest assured that its Galaxy branding is well deserved. This handset will soon be landing on T-Mobile shelves with a price that’s just as stellar. At $149, the Galaxy S Blaze 4G may be right up your alley. We got a chance to see the handset up close at Mobile World Congress a few weeks back and we walked away pretty impressed. It just goes to show you that specs really aren’t everything, even Read more

The Toshiba Excite 10 LE Android tablet first spotted at CES 2012 now has an official release date and price. It’ll start at $529 and land on March 6th. I’m sure it’s just a total coincidence that Apple is unveiling the iPad 3 the very next day. The Excite 10 LE appropriately features a 10.1-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution and Gorilla Glass on top. It ships with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but Toshiba promises it will receive the Ice Cream Sandwich treatment later on in the year. As Read more

Mobile World Congress 2012: BlackBerry Booth Photo Tour

BlackBerry wasn’t showing off too many new products this year at Mobile World Congress but that certainly didn’t stop it from having a rather impressive booth. We snapped a couple of shots, so take a gander if you want to see what RIM’s booth looked like here in Barcelona. We got a chance to play with it last October, but the BlackBerry Playbook OS 2.0 was showcased quite a bit at the booth, which showed off some of the newer features that come with the update. There was also a large Read more

A spacious 4.8-inch 1080p HD display will consume the front of the phone, and with a 16:9 aspect ratio, it’ll be stunning for entertainment. Above that, a 2MP camera for video calling and of course a higher quality 8MP shooter on Read more

HTC One V looks to be a Legend successor, chin and all

HTC’s new One line brings powerful devices like the One X and One S to the table but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the new family is limited to high-end devices, and proof of this comes in the form of the One V. This little handset is destined to be in the pockets of first time smartphone buyers with the specs under the hood, and also brings back memories of some of HTC’s previous devices. Unlike the quad-core One X and the dual-core One S, the One V has a Read more
