Which Mobile device appears in the Ke$ha ‘Blah Blah Blah’ video?

keha Which Mobile device appears in the Ke$ha Blah Blah Blah video?

So, taking a small break from the latest cut and thrust in the mobile world, we continue my (nearly) favourite game of ’spot the mobile device in the music video’ – this week it’s the turn of fresh new thing ‘Ke$ha‘, who has been causing chart destruction in both the US and UK. Having punished us with some tight lyrics in ‘Tik Tok’, she’s now back with another chart banger, called ‘Blah Blah Blah’ – featuring dudes of the moment 3Oh!3 :-)

But the question is: which Mobile device is featured blatantly in this video? It’s quite an easy one, so let’s see how many people get it. On this occasion I’m not even providing a link to the video, just to add that extra 5 milliseconds of tension whilst you look it up via Google (NSDQ: GOOG)!

Game on! (Answers in the comments please)

You can check out Ke$ha’s official site here.

telus motorola milestone contest TELUS Motorola Milestone Twitter Contest Underway

The new TELUS Motorola Milestone seems to be getting a lot of attention up in Canada these days. The Canadian version of the Motorola (NYSE: MOT) Droid is doing well as far as I can tell, no doubt due to the great marketing efforts the Canadian carrier has put forth.

Case in point, a little note I received in my email today from a TELUS (NYSE: TU) buddy.

Looks like they’re running a new contest. The TELUS Motorola Milestone Twitter Contest gives you the opportunity to win a Motorola Milestone with a free car mount. Not bad. I enjoy a good car mount. I also like accessories that’ll hold your smartphone safe and secure in your car.

ANYWAYS, the contest is quite simple. All you have to do is re-tweet one of the daily messages posted from the @TELUS Twitter account. Tweets will be going out March 1-5 and March 8-12, 2010. Things are already underway, so Canadians best be following @TELUS if they want a chance to win. Only one entry per person will be accepted per business day… and of course, the contest is open to Canadian residents only. In total, 3 TELUS Motorola Milestones will be given away, and the drawing will be held at the TELUS office in Toronto on March 15, 2010.

For full contest details pop on over to TELUS.

#iBaconLove Twitter Contest Shamelessly Promotes iBacon App (and I Love it!)

In Applications, Contests, iPhone

Chalk this one up as weird or useless if you want… But for me, anything that involves bacon by default has to be awesome. The folks at G-Monkey Productions have recently announced their #iBaconLove Twitter contest. The contest shamelessly promotes their iBacon app, an app so jam-packed full of crispy bacon goodness you’ll go crazy. In iBacon you can pinch and flip bacon in the pan, drain off grease, shake the bacon and more. When you’re ready to take the bacon off the skillet, hit the ‘eat bacon’ button and enjoy your hard work.

Getting back to the contest… How does it all work? Simply hit up this link and hit ‘update’ (providing you’re logged into your Twitter account) to send out the #iBaconLove tweet. You’re allowed one entry per day, and a winner will be announced on Valentine’s Day at 6PM mountain time. That’s all there is to it!

For more information on iBacon, hit it up in the App Store (iTunes link). To purchase, you’ll need to spend $0.99.

sony ericsson world cup Sony Ericsson start their 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Promo

Clearly Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) has decided to use the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ as a major Promo push – and so has already started offering people a way to get themselves their as winners of a competition they are now running:

The 2010 FIFA World Cup™ is next year and we want to reward the ultimate football parent with the ultimate football prize.
And we don’t think it gets any better than this. We’re giving away two tickets to South Africa. Not just to watch a match, but to watch your child walk out on the pitch as a FIFA Flag Bearer.
You could give your child the opportunity of a lifetime, and be there to watch them. Just enter our competition.
All you need to do is identify a flag from one of the qualifying nations at www.sonyericsson.com/extraman. The more flags you identify, the better your chances of winning. And you can enter every day until the competition ends on the 19 December.
For more chances to win, ask your family and friends to enter on behalf of your child too.

So that’s basically it – if you can identity flags, you could be in with a chance of not only going, but for your son/daughter to walk out as a FIFA flag bearer!
I have to admit I was struggling to see the somewhat tenuous link between Football and Mobile Devices, but having visited Sony Ericsson’s website (here), I can see their Marketing Wizards have been busy – with both links to content and devices (‘mobile phones for fans’) in there already. Expecting the Sony Ericsson Marketing Machine to go in to overdrive during the first half of next year!
Again, if you would like to have a go at winning a ticket in to the FIFA World Cup™, you should visit www.sonyericsson.com/extraman.

BlackBerry Chase12 300x225 Rogers and RIM Kick Off CampusChase in OttawaI took the morning to check out a contest RIM and Rogers (NYSE: RCI) were holding at the University of Ottawa called CampusChase, where teams of two run around town like headless chickens on a scavenger hunt for big prizes. Rogers wasn’t quite ready to show off the Bold 9700 just yet (all of the promos were for the Curve 8520), but it was still a ton of fun hanging out with the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) mascots for awhile. Here are a few pictures of the booths, contestants, and the warm-up just prior to the race. One of my favourites is of the two Bolds getting a little friendly. CityChase goes all over, so be sure to check out their schedule to see if it’ll be happening in your city any time soon.
