MobiWorld Media, which is a spinoff from SPB Software, announced that SPB TV was not included into the Yandex’s SPB Software acquisition deal. The company which demerged from SPB on October 20th will continue to develop and enhance its TV streaming app/service, which is used by more than 10 million folks across all popular platforms, feature phones included.

Aside from offering a mobile app for end users, MobiWorld Media also has a solution for mobile operators that has been deployed to MTS, MegaFon, StarHub and Skylink, allowing them [operators] to sell mobile TV services and increase ARPUs.

Finally, we have a comment from MobiWorld Media’s CEO Kirill Filippov – he said: “We welcome the news of the Yandex’s acquisition of SPB Software, which should benefit both companies. MobiWorld Media has its own strategy to develop SPB TV solution, and as a fully independent company will not be affected by this acquisition.”
