New iPad already accounts for 5 percent of U.S. iPad traffic

Customers unhappy with battery performance of 4G LTE phones

Prepare to be shocked. According to J.D. Power and Associates, some of the most unhappy mobile phone customers are ones with 4G LTE smartphones. The sole reason? Poor battery life. The data J.D. Power and Associates collected shows that dissatisfaction with battery life alone on LTE smartphones “greatly impacted” overall satisfaction of the phones. 4G smartphone owners gave their devices a rating of 6.1 out of 10 on average. Analyst: Apple will sell about 1 million iPads on first day of sales

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster is forecasting that Apple will sell over one million new iPads this Friday when it goes on sale for the first time. StatCounter: Mobile Internet usage is doubling every year

Global internet usage through mobile devices, excluding tablets, is doubling every year. According to StatCounter, as of January 2012, the mobile Internet access accounted for 8.5%, which is up from 4.3% a year before. Moreover, in January 2010, the figure was at 1.6%, which again is more than double than in 2009 – 0.7%. Juniper Research: Mobile TV viewing on tablets to reach 3 hours per month by 2014

In its new report titled “Mobile TV: Applications, Devices and Opportunities 2012-2016,” Juniper Research talks about mobile TV usage. More US citizens own smartphones than dumbphones

Pew asked 2,253 adults about their mobile phone in a survey conducted last month, and the results suggest that smartphones have finally overtaken dumb phones in the US. The survey shows that 45 percent of cell owners say their phone is a smartphone, and 49 percent of cell owners say that their phone operates on a smartphone platform. These numbers are up from 33 percent and 39 percent in 2011, respectively.
