Contact UsWell, it’s that time of the year when rumors begin to run rampant about the next generation Apple device. The latest rumor claims that Apple is holding a handful of sample devices for the next iPhone, and the company could be looking to release a new model this summer, according to 9to5Mac. The new iOS handset is expected to be called none other than the iPhone 5, and it’ll sport a 4-inch (or larger) display, with a form factor that looks much different from the current iPhone 4 and 4S. If this turns out to … Read more
Let’s be honest, Windows Phone isn’t exactly a success. Everyone in the media says that it has incredible potential, that it’s beautiful, and that it’s the freshest take on a mobile smartphone operating system they’ve ever seen, but has that praise translated into actual sales? No. It hasn’t. Anyone remember the Palm Pre? Anyway, for the longest time we’ve been saying that the public should ignore Windows Phone until “Apollo” comes out, which we think will end up being called Windows Phone 8. It’s supposed to support high resolution screens, … Read more
Earlier this month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas we saw Nokia unveil their first “real Windows Phone” for the U.S. market, the Lumia 900. It’s basically the Lumia 800, but with a larger 4.3 inch screen, front facing camera, and AT&T 4G LTE connectivity. Those of us living on the other side of the pond began wondering, would this thing ever be sold in Europe? Yesterday we filed a report that said yes, Carphone Warehouse would sell the Lumia 900 in the UK starting in June, but … Read more
While we already figured the Samsung Galaxy S III would be announced during Mobile World Congress next month, a tweet from Eldar Murtazin has further confirmed this, along with a few specs of the handset. HD resolution, 12 mpx camera, sw tweaks, android 4 – i like my new phone. Eager to see official announcement in Barcelona Everything mentioned seems to be what we’d expect from Samsung for its next flagship device but we hadn’t heard that the handset would be rocking a 12 megapixel camera, even from rumors, until … Read more
One of the banes of my existence has been the Microsoft Point system that’s used to purchase anything digital from a number of Microsoft’s online marketplaces including Zune, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Windows Phone Marketplace. According to a recent rumor published by insidemobileapps.com, it looks like Microsoft may finally be listening to its customers and plans to doing away with its horrid Microsoft Points system. If you’re unfamiliar with the Microsoft Points system, it’s a virtual currency that Microsoft decided to implement with the release of the Xbox 360 back … Read more
Research In Motion has a new CEO but you can be pretty sure that its 2012 roadmap will remain the same unless something dramatic happens. Well, the spies over at BGR have got their hands on what the BlackBerry maker will reportedly release over the next 15 months and I’d be lying if I said it’s super exciting. First off, we should look forward to two new BlackBerry Curve devices: the Curve 9230 and the Curve 9320. The 9320 will have EDGE and the other will be an HSPA smartphone … Read more
Late last month we reported on a rumor that said Nokia was going to introduce two new color variants of the Lumia 800. The French website MonWindowsPhone said that white and yellow will soon join the existing color choices: black, cyan (blue), and magenta (pink). What they failed to say was when those color variants would launch and in which markets. Now thanks to XDA Developer forum member “fshqbizfs”, who was “playing with my app that browses nokia firmwares”, we now know that Nokia plans on brining a white Lumia … Read more
If you’re still craving a third dimension in your smartphone and aren’t getting all hot and bothered by the rumored LG X3, then you may be in for a treat during Mobile World Congress. The rumor mill has churned out that we may see the successor to the Optimus 3D, the LG CX2. From our experience with glasses-free 3D handsets, it’s easy to see that the technology is very much a novelty. That said, we were much more impressed with the 3D offerings that came from the Optimus 3D opposed … Read more
Sony will most definitely unveil new device at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. One of the phones that could be announced is the ST25i aka Kumquat, and we’re happy to report we have the first leaked photo of the device to share. As you can see from the image above, this baby is pretty similar to the Xperia S, which has been launched at the CES in Las Vegas. Specs wise, it is said that the Kumquat will rock a dual-core 1GHz processor, 3.5-inch 480×854 display, and we … Read more
While it’s hard to say that CES 2012 was a dud in the mobile space, we’re patiently awaiting to see what Mobile World Congress will be offering us next month. We’re pretty sure that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be announced already and it looks like LG is packing some heat with the upcoming X3. Yes, this is all rumor for the time being but the render above is enough to get our attention. This beastly device is said to sport a quad-core processor, presumably NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 SoC. … Read more
Back in February, rumors circulated that Apple would unveil the iPad 3 in February and recently, we heard the more specific date of February 24th, right on Steve Jobs’ birthday. Now, yet another report is in stating February is the target month for the tablet’s debut. What is it going to feature? Well, just about every rumor says a retina display with a 2048×1536 resolution. It’s pretty much a given at this point. At the beginning of January, we also reported an 8MP camera could be on the way, although … Read more
