Contact UsWe’ve already told you about Asus’ sweet problems as it tries extra hard to fulfill all pre-orders. Apparently, they’re still struggling to meet the demand and have issued the following statement to address the customers’ concerns: Just to keep you all up to date on stock of the Eee Pad Transformer Prime – It is still landing weekly and in increasing numbers. The majority of our resellers have now fulfilled their back orders so more free stock should be available soon. Please check with your preferred reseller as to how … Read more
Stupid carriers and their specific versions of popular devices. We always have to wait an extra week (best case scenario) or more to get the same update folks with unlocked smartphones or tablets got. Verizon’s Xoom is one of those devices that still waits to get the proper treatment. Sure, unlike the Wi-Fi only Xoom, it comes with LTE connectivity, but I can’t imagine that to be such a problem that it can’t run the Ice Cream Sandwich. Instead, the Big Red carrier will soon (not sure when exactly) launch … Read more
Not sure that many folks dig Toshiba’s tablets, but then again – I may be wrong. We gotta give it to the Japanese company for their super-thin (7.7mm) AT200 model (aka Excite X10) that makes the iPad and many other Android tablets feel too bulky. And now this handsome device is available in the UK, with the Carphone Warehouse scoring the exclusive launch deal. The 16GB tablet could be yours for 399 GBP (about $633), while the 32GB version is selling for 50 GBP more (449 GBP ~ $712). Specs … Read more
Asus knows it can’t joke with Transformer Prime users as they are ready to share both the good and the bad things about the company’s flagship tablet. Hence, they keep fixing any bugs reported as fast as they can. To that end, Asus released a new update for its tablet/netbook that comes with an all new kernel inside (version 2.6.39). In addition, the new software also promises to fix WiFi and Bluetooth functionality, while also increasing the overall performance. According to user reports, the Transformer Prime is faster after the … Read more
If you bought the Kindle Fire as a media tablet, you’ll be happy to know that the video-watching experience should be getting much better as Amazon has inked a deal with Viacom to bolster its Prime Instant Video service. For those who don’t know, Amazon Prime is a service which gives users free two-day shipping on anything they order once you’ve paid the yearly fee and one of the side benefits is that you get access to its Prime Instant video service for free. This enables you to stream movies … Read more
Some enthusiastic Nokia fan out there put together a pretty incredible concept design of what a Lumia tablet would look like. The mock-up incorporates elements from both the Lumia 800 and N8, as the camera isn’t in the middle but in the top left corner which is a unique place to put a camera on a slate. If you think about it, maybe all tablet cameras should be in the left corner, as it wouldn’t just use video playback for portrait mode only. What you also see in the concept … Read more
There are two things I really dig: mobile technology and the National Basketball Association. That’s why it’s very cool to see the Phoenix Suns, Samsung and Verizon Wireless teaming up to bring Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets to the game. These 4G LTE-enabled tablets will be used throughout the Suns’ operation. This will include workers at the game showing perspective clients interactive views of their game seats and you could easily see kiosks or retailers in the arena using these to jazz up displays. It’s not just the business side … Read more
Sprint’s affordable 7-inch tablet, ZTE Optik, is now available for $99.99. The device is pretty capable, delivering quite a bang for the buck. It comes with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 2-megapixel front-facing one, 3G (EV-DO Rev. A) and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, while Android 3.2 Honeycomb is running the show. Don’t want another two-year contract? Sprint lists the Optik with the regular price of $350, though you can’t seem to buy it without committing to the carrier’s plan. Guess they … Read more
HTC Flyer is now available for 234.99 GBP, which translates into about $372. Sure it used to be available for less (199 GBP), but that was at a short period after Christmas when all prices go south. Now if you want a nicely designed 7-inch tablet, the Flyer is a decent option. However, I would suggest getting something else instead. For instance, take a look at the Samsung Galaxy 7.0 Plus or Huawei MediaPad, which even looks like the Flyer. Although HTC’s tablet now runs Android Honeycomb, we’re not sure … Read more
AT&T is adding another tablet to its portfolio – Huawei MediaPad, which is already available in the U.S. as T-Mobile Springboard. Unfortunately, the device AT&T is selling comes with Honeycomb (rather than Ice Cream Sandwich) on board, though we’re sure Android 4.0 update will be released shortly. Moreover, the press release doesn’t mention multiple color options, hinting us the only version the carrier will offer is silver (which BTW looks pretty cool to me). AT&T has already started selling the MediaPad to its enterprise users at varying price points depending … Read more
During CES this past January, tablets certainly weren’t in short supply. With the introduction of tablets like the Transformer Prime with the NVIDIA Tegra 3, the new trend will likely make quad-core all the rage. That said, as we’ve seen with the Kindle Fire, a tablet with decent specs and an awesome price can garner just as much attention as anything else these days. Mobile World Congress will undoubtedly show us a handful of tablets later this month but we wanted to ask the readers what would be more important … Read more
