According to latest data from Wireless Intelligence, there are now 100 million LTE connections around the world. All these connections are spread across 163 networks in 70 countries, and the forecast is that there will be more than 400 live networks across 120 countries by December 2017. Rogers is in the midst of rebranding parts of its high-speed network to LTE Max to highlight the fact that it runs across two high-frequency bands, AWS (1700/2100Mhz) and 2600Mhz. According to a new filing from the FCC, T-Mobile is planning on releasing the Sony Xperia Z on its network. We heard a rumor suggesting the device was making its way to T-Mobile last month, and the FCC filing nudges that rumor closer to reality. AT&T is continuing its LTE rollout by announcing today the launch of several new LTE markets, bringing AT&T’s LTE presence to a total of 207 markets in the U.S. Along with the rollout of LTE in new markets comes expansions in LTE service as well.
