SFR (originally Société Française du Radiotéléphone) is a French mobile phone company. It has 20 million clients, including (as of January 2009) over 4,7 million using 3G technology. In addition to France, SFR also offers services on the island of Réunion through SRR (Société Réunionnaise du Radiotéléphone) although the company is branded as SFR Réunion. Currently, the company is 56% owned by the French group Vivendi and 44% by mobile phone giant Vodafone. The rumor is that Vivendi wants to buy out Vodafone and get whole 100% of SFR.
