The words “master reset” can strike fear in the hearts of many an iPhone owner.  There is nothing worse than the laborious process of having to recreate all of your contact information.  But worry not; by following a few simple steps you can be spared the embarrassment of posting a plea on Facebook explaining why you need all of your friends information again.

The good news is that your contacts are automatically backed up each time you sync your iPhone with iTunes.  To ensure that the backup process is successful, always be sure to keep iTunes updated.  In addition, always choose restore from backup in iTunes, performing a full restore will delete the contents of your iPhone and restore it to the original factory settings, and you don’t want that to happen.

If you are the kind of person who always has a backup plan for your backup plan, you can follow the steps below to back up your contacts to your PC.
