Wireless carriers prefer less choice when it comes to what operating systems are powering the phones used on their networks. There are just too many options for mobile phone operating systems out there. And that’s a pretty big headache for wireless carriers/operators. Vodafone is leading the push to reduce the number of mobile operating systems currently being used on handsets to just Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Linux.
Arun Sarin, CEO-Vodafone cites "easier content delivery" as the main reason to reduce the number of operating systems used on mobile phones.
