Alltel releases two new Samsung phones - Wafer and Snap Alltel has released two new cell phones, the “Wafer” and the “Snap.” As the name might suggest, the “Wafer” is ridiculously thin – at 8.4 mm thick it’s a wafer indeed – and busts up any preconceived notions that CDMA phones are bulky and brick-like. The Samsung Wafer takes the cake as the slimmest Alltel offering and packs in Bluetooth, MP3 player, and a 1.3 megapixel camera into that anorexic body. So, if super-thin model-types are your thing, this is the CDMA phone for you, hit up Alltel for a new contract and get the Wafer for $70.

Being lower on the totem pole means you only get regular old 1xRTT data transfer speeds, VGA shooter, and a monochrome external display, but for just $10 (after contract rebate, of course) you get what you pay for.
