Alltel to add Samsung R200, R500 to its offering

Samsung R200, R500Alltel is about to boost its already solid low and mid range offering with two additional Samsung device, SCH-R200 and SCH-R500.

The first one, R200 is an entry level candybar, sporting the similar slim body as the popular Samsung Wafer (already available on Alltel). However, unlike Wafer the R200 has less features, and is therefore more affordable. Alltel will push R200 as an ultra low-cost device that should appeal to the mass-market segment.

On the other hand, the 17mm thick R500 supports the ultra-fast EV-DO data transfer. There’s also the Bluetooth, 1.3 MP camera, two screens (internal – 176×220 pixels, and small external), as well as the stereo speakers built inside this clamshell device.

It is still not known when will the two handsets hit the Alltel’s online and offline storefronts, but my bet is that we could expect them soon. (via: phonearena)
