We’ve been expecting it, and we already know pretty much everything there is to know about both of the upcoming Sidekick models – but that doesn’t make the announcement from T-Mobile any less significant.
The Sidekick carrier has just gone official with their announcement of the Sharp/Danger Sidekick LX and Motorola Sidekick Slide. The Sidekick LX will be taking its place at the head of the Sidekick-table – with a 3-inch widescreen display that borrows Sharp’s AQUOS technology, 1.3 megapixel camera, 128MB microSD card, and configurable mood lighting, it’s not hard to see why the Sidekick LX is all that.

Motorola’s Sidekick Slide will be bringing up the slimmer and lower-end of the Sidekick lineup with a svelte profile and a “sliding” screen (hence the name) instead of a “flip-out” screen, a la the Sidekick LX.

The Sidekick LX should hit T-Mobile stores on October 24th for an on-contract price of $299 – in your choice of “midnight blue” and “espresso brown.” We’re looking for the Sidekick Slide to debut on November 3rd for $199 – you only get that purple/black color scheme to choose from.
Don’t forget, those Sidekick LX reservation cards should be available at your nearest T-Mobile store today! Go out and get your Sidekick LX reserved today.
