iPhone v1.1.3 software-based jailbreak on the verge of public release – the best of both worlds!

iPhone v1.1.3 jailbreakRight. Remember when we speculated that the iPhone dev community was holding off on releasing their software-based jailbreak method so as to not give Apple a chance to patch the exploit with the release of their official iPhone SDK? Well, it looks like we were wrong – and we can’t say we’ve ever been happier to be wrong about something.

Word on the street has it that the simpler of two viable jailbreak methods could be released as soon as “tonight or tomorrow!” The iPhone v1.1.3 jailbreak process should prove to be no more difficult than the iPhone v1.1.2 jailbreak method.

With the iPhone v1.1.3 firmware reportedly ready to rock-and-roll with official third-party applications, it seems that the iPhone dev community sees this as a good time to release the software-based iPhone v1.1.3 jailbreak solution. But, they’re apparently keeping the more complex of the two jailbreak solutions on lock-down, just in case Apple does decide to do a last-minute firmware patch, rendering the public jailbreak method invalid.

Stay tuned! We’ll keep you updated as the jailbreak becomes public.
