Poor Motorola. They just can’t catch a break these days. Even with a consumer-oriented design and a new color offering that should have appealed to the hip, younger set that looks toward HipTop devices for their mobile communication needs, the Motorola-made Sidekick Slide just didn’t have the street-cred to gain any significant traction. Consider the Sidekick Slide a flop of Sidekick iD proportions.
As such, T-Mobile has decided to pull the plug on Motorola’s HipTop offering. The Motorola Sidekick Slide will no longer be offered by T-Mobile. With the release of the Sidekick 2008, it’s understandable that T-Mobile would rather woo entry-level Sidekick users with the latest handset, rather than give serve up lesser hardware.

Online stocks of the Sidekick Slide are gone, but you might still be able to find a few units strewn across T-Mobile stores throughout the country that still haven’t managed to get rid of their Slide-inventory. If you hurry, you can probably snatch up a Sidekick Slide for a good deal (just let the dealer know that you know T-Mobile discontinued the handset) to give that Sidekick iD in your collection some much needed company.
Farewell, Sidekick Slide, we barely knew ye.
