Sometimes you have to give some to win some. Case in point, the Epoq EGP-PP01 projector phone. This device is the world’s first commercially available handset with a built-in pico-projector capable of splashing up
videos and pictures up to 30-inches in size on almost any surface – a winning feature for sure. But, the Epoq EGP-PP01 loses out on the originality tip by completely ripping off Cupertino. The world’s first projector phone uses a carbon-copy of the iPhone UI, and even uses the iPhone’s shutter animation when taking pictures with the 1.3 megapixel camera.
Still, the Epoq EGP-PP01 is capable of projecting a maximum resolution of
640×480, and can be hooked up to a DVD player or laptop to watch a movie for up to two hours of continuous viewing.
So, if you’ve got to be the first kid on your block with a projector phone, then this might be the handset for you. If you’re friends are more likely to make fun of you for rocking a phone with a fake iPhone UI, you might want to stay away.
