Palm has announced that the Treo Pro will be available on the Vodafone New Zealand network. The Treo Pro is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1, and has key built-in features such as WiFi, GPS and more.
The device is one of the nicest and thinnest Treo’s I’ve seen to-date, no doubt Palm has and is doing everything they can to push more devices these days. The Treo Pro is a valiant effort. The high-res screen is quite nice, and a full QWERTY keyboard helps you punch out those quick business messages. One of the things I appreciate quite a bit about the device is the removable battery that offers up to five hours of talk time per charge. Seeing as I’m currently using the iPhone 3G, my kingdom for a removable battery knows no end.
More key features of the Palm Treo Pro:
- One-touch WiFi button
- Today screen enhancements
- New voicemail indicator (the center button flashes)
- Ringer switch silences the device immediately
- Screen saver lets users know at a glance without turning on the device, the time, if they’ve missed any calls or messages
- Email and calendar buttons
- Integrated GPS
- World phone with high-speed UMTS/HSDPA network capabilities
Congrats to New Zealand’s mobile crowd, as they now have another device to spend their hard-earned money on. Lets hope the reception and sales of the device are better than the usual lack-lustre performances Palm has been having for the past few years.
