Setting up my first Arrow Tower
I downloaded this game a week or two ago, and was actually quite surprised. If you enjoy war/strategy games with some decent graphics and easy gameplay… TapDefense is a Winner.
The object of the game is to keep enemy monsters away from your castle at the end of the path. All monsters will follow the path, so it’s your job to build towers along it to defend your castle. There are all kinds of towers to choose from. Shoot arrows, bombs and water cannons…All towers of course have to be purchased, and you earn money by defeating the evil monsters to move on to the next level. There are also a few more powerful tower types you can research. Storm, ice, magic and earthquake. All of these enhanced tower types to more critical damage, and do more damage to certain types of monsters when compared to others. The earthquake tower is especially devistating, and it takes more than all other types to research and build.
At the start of a game, you’ll start with 75 gold. Enough to build some towers. You’ll notice some buttons at the bottom of the screen. ‘Menu’ will take you to the main menu. ‘Build’ is what you need to tap to start building towers. ‘Research’ will show you different tower types and more that you can research as you progress through the game… and ‘Play’ will actually set the monsters free on the screen from the bottom right corner. This button turns into ‘Pause’ once the game is going. Feel free to pause and build more towers at any time.
To get back to the start of a game, go ahead and click the ‘Build’ button. Select an ‘Arrow’ tower and place it on the game board. You’ll notice a red ring around the tower. This indicates the range of the arrow towers. Any monsters that come within it are in range. Purchase a ‘Bomb’ and ‘Water’ tower as well and place them on the board. When ready hit the ‘Play’ button and watch what happens. This should give you a great overview of how the game works. Building the three basic types of towers and placing them on the board is more than enough to pass the first level.
From here, things start to get tricky. You have to consider re-positioning towers and upgrading them to do more damage and increase their range. As the game moves on the strategy of it all gets tougher and tougher.
