Designers of the popular space-based MMO, EVE Online, are thinking to go beyond the PC, to expand to other platforms such as consoles and mobile phones. We at IntoMobile.com don’t care much about consoles, hence it’s the second part we’ll discuss here.
In a recent interview to MTV Multiplayer, EVE Online’s lead designer said: “What we’re more interested in is augmenting EVE’s gameplay in the handheld space, like iPhone or Smartphone [applications] that let you check your skills or that sort of thing.”
Hear that? An iPhone app is in the queue, or at least that’s the way I read this. Now, this doesn’t mean the full blown desktop experience will be available on the iPhone. Rather I guess initially users will be able to check their stats, trade, and/or chat with other users to keeping up with events. That by itself is a good starting point, don’t you think?
