Animoto has given gave its iPhone and iPod touch users even more flexibility and freedom to create and view professional-quality music videos on the go. Animoto’s iPhone application, which has quickly become a Top Free App within the Photography category, creates beautifully orchestrated videos from a user’s iPhone photos with the click of a button. Since launching in December 2008, 300,000 people have installed the Animoto Videos application and over 500,000 videos have been created through the application.
Animoto Videos 2.0 now lets iPhone and iPod touch users link their devices directly to their accounts at Animoto.com, with the ability to synchronize their videos for playback in either location. Videos created on Animoto.com are instantly sync’d to the iPhone app, so whether creating a video on the desktop computer or on a mobile device, accounts will be linked to give users access to all of their videos in one place, any time, anywhere. iPhone and iPod touch users now also have the ability to save Animoto videos on their device for offline viewing, eliminating the need for an Internet connection to watch videos. Further, paying users are no longer limited to 30-second videos within the mobile application.
“Usage of our iPhone application has exceeded expectations,” said Brad Jefferson, CEO & Co-founder of Animoto. “This release brings closer feature parity between our mobile and online experience but, more importantly, makes the iPhone and iPod touch the ideal mobile companion to Animoto.com since users can now view all their videos in either location while online or offline.”
The heart of Animoto is its Cinematic Artificial Intelligence® technology that thinks like an actual director and editor using the same sophisticated post-production skills and techniques that are used in television and film. The technology takes into account every nuance of a song: the genre, song structure, energy, rhythm, instrumentation, and vocals. No two videos are ever the same; even videos generated with an identical set of images and music will each have a completely distinct set of motion design. Videos are produced in widescreen format to utilize the full iPhone and iPod touch screen and can easily be shared through email.
