Rogers has been busy upgrading its network lately. They’ve launched its HSPA+ network in the cities of Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary and Montreal. So what does this mean? Well, it means the lucky folks in those great cities can now access download speeds maxing out at around 21Mbps… much better than the typical ~6Mbps Rogers usually pounds out.
Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Rogers, John Boynton commented on the upgrades:
With Rogers 21 Mbps HSPA+ network, customers in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal are the first in North America to experience the fastest world-class wireless speeds. Rogers continues to remain at the forefront of offering Canadians the most innovative mobile technologies and first-to-market products, including the new Rogers Rocket Mobile Internet Stick that lets consumers enjoy mobile Internet access across Canada’s fastest wireless network just as conveniently as you use your wireless phone.
If you live and/or work in Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary or Montreal and have noticed quite a ‘boost’… I suspect ‘Rocket Stick’ owners/users will be tickled about this, especially when you consider an HSPA+ variant of the Rocket Stick is coming soon… Check that out here.
