Sierra Wireless announces 5 new AirCards for HSPA and HSPA+ networks

Sierra Wireless has announced the addition of five new AirCards for mobile broadband networks. The AirCard 503 data card, AirCard USB 308, and AirCard USB 309 modems are part of the company’s second generation of products for HSPA+ networks, supporting peak download speeds of 21 Mbps.

The AirCard 503 data card is a convertible 2-in-1 card that works with both PC card and ExpressCard slots, whereas AirCard USB 308 and USB 309 are standard USB modems, which work on 850/1900/2100 MHz and 900/2100 MHz frequency bands, respectively.

The two remaining products, the AirCard USB 301 and USB 302 modems, are made for HSPA networks, providing peak download speeds of 7.2 Mbps and peak upload speeds of 5.76 Mbps. The former works on 850 and 2100 MHz, while the latter sings on 900 and 2100 MHz frequency bands…

All five AirCard products are scheduled to begin shipping in Q4 2009.
