HTC HD2 versus concrete, the aftermath

What happens when you take the HTC HD2’s massive, flush-mounted, 4.3-inch glass touchscreen and pit it against a concrete sidewalk? These pictures speak for themselves.

The HD2’s stand-out feature turned out to be a key player in the demise of its touchscreen. The giant display dominates the front face of the device, shaving down the bezel (the border around the display) down to a few mere millimeters. Coupled with the all-glass display and the stiff metallic body, the shock of an impact onto concrete was enough to shatter the display.

The lesson here: do not drop your HD2.
