Barclays Capital’s Doug Anmuth: Google might sell 5 to 6 million Nexus One phones this year

Google Nexus One

Barclays Capital’s Doug Anmuth thinks that Google may be onto something with its own-branded phone. As a matter of fact, he believes the search giant could move 5-6 million devices in this year, only. That’s like nothing compared to iPhone’s projected sales for the year, which if everything goes as planned should hit the 30 million mark. Still, it’s an impressive figure, which could bring Google an additional $2.5 billion in sales (that’s 5 million x $530). Of course, that’s a gross number and HTC will take a large cut of that number, but it proves a (business) logic of making your own phone if you have such a brand like Google does.

Anyway, just like we did with the iPhone, we’ll make sure every single Nexus One story is on IntoMobile. So if you care – stay tuned… Nah, stay tuned anyhow. 😉
