Tapulous Releases Riddim Ribbon; Put The Needle on the iPhone

Tapulous’ Tap Tap Revenge is one of those iPhone games that nearly everyone has experienced or at least heard of.  With its easy to use interface and great soundtrack, it pretty much put Tapulous on the map.  Their latest title, Riddim Ribbon, was released on the App Store and the game shares similarities with Tap Tap Revenge, but it’s also a bit different than what you’d expect.

If Tap Tap Revenge was influenced by Guitar Hero, then Riddim Ribbon’s influence definitely comes from DJ Hero.  You control a ball as you progress through a musical track.  You need to keep the ball within a specific highlighted area of the track by tilting your iPhone in order to progress through a song.  If you fall out of the highlighted area, you begin to lose energy.  If you lose enough energy before hitting a checkpoint, you’ll end up losing the game.  As you progress through a track, it will split in two separate directions which then mixes in another version of the song.  The tracks split from time to time, so you can always bounce back and forth between split tracks to get a taste of what each version has to offer.

Riddim Ribbon gives you 3 tracks from the Black Eyed Peas “E.N.D.” album, “Boom Boom Pow”, “Meet Me Halfway”, and “I Gotta Feeling”.  Other tracks from Tiesto and Benny Benassi are also available, but cost $.99 to download via in-app purchase.  If you enjoy Tap Tap Revenge, but want a DJ Hero experience, then look no further as Riddim Ribbon does an excellent job of bringing a DJ experience to the iPhone.
