SRS Labs is the latest member of the Symbian Foundation, which as you may know is led by Nokia. As a member of the foundation, SRS Labs will participate in the governance of the Symbian Foundation, and the opportunity to become a package owner or earn a seat on the technology Councils that determine the evolution of the platform. On the other hand, we hope SRS’ advanced audio tech will be incorporated in some future version of Symbian OS.

Commenting on the announcement, Symbian’s John Forsyth said: “We welcome SRS as a member of the Symbian Foundation. We know most users of Symbian devices want to carry just one mobile multimedia device, so that product needs to deliver a high-definition, high-quality audio experience. SRS Labs’ technologies have been shown to help deliver that experience and we are really looking forward to their contribution and participation as members of this project.”
