Received another lovely update from the folks at RIM a little while ago. Seems as though they have another BlackBerry Developer Webinar planned, and after looking over the details it promises to be a good one.
The details? Well, the webinar will commence on Thursday, February 25th and will start at 2PM EST. It’ll be run by the one and only Mike Kirkup, the director of developer relations at RIM. What’s the webinar going to be called? (drum-roll please)… ‘Turn Your BlackBerry App into a Super App’.
Now, whether you’re on board with the whole ‘Super App’ concept is your own thing. For me all I would care about as a BlackBerry developer would be making the best darn apps I possibly could. And by the looks of things, this webinar is going to cover some very interesting subjects, including how to:
- design apps that are stickier, more intuitive, more engaging and more valuable to users
- maximize network efficiency and battery life with “always-on” apps that run in the background, quietly waiting for the right time to spring into action
- add custom menu items and data to the Inbox, Address Book and Calendar so your apps are always one click away
- leverage true push technology to deliver “just-in-time” data with audible notifications and customized messages
For more details or to register for the webinar (it’s free), head on over to the webinar lobby. Hope to see you on the call!
