Good news for the remaining Symbian S60 5th Edition fans in the U.S. – Nokia’s capacitive touchscreen-equipped device, X6 16GB is now available at the company’s flagship stores in Chicago and New York. The price is $455 plus taxes, which is super expensive even for an unlocked device with such a few apps available (when compared to the iPhone and Android).
Still, it’s worth pointing the X6 is quite a capable device (for those of you who are not familiar with Nokia’s smartphones), sporting a 3.2-inch display, 5-megapixel camera, 16GB of internal memory, media player, WiFi, GPS, HSPA connectivity, and so on. It is definitely the best S60 touch-enabled device on the market, but that fact doesn’t help a lot, honestly.
On that note, I am looking forward to write a similar post about Nokia MeeGo-powered device hitting the U.S. stores and elsewhere, but I guess we’ll have to wait for the second half of the year for that to happen. Stay tuned in the meantime. 😉
