Investment company Fidelity is getting its feet in the iGame with a brand new application, allowing users to place stock, option, ETF or mutual fund trades; as well as keep up with market news from such sources as MarketWatch and Reuters — all while on the go. Here’s what else to expect (from the press release):
With the new app, customers can also access their Fidelity account information and watch lists; stay updated on domestic and world markets via up-to-the-minute news; receive real-time quotes; and compare the performance of multiple stocks all on one screen with interactive charting capabilities.
In other words, Fidelity wants to see its client trading at their own convenience wherever they happen to be. Hence, now that the iPhone app is launched, I’m guessing they’ll go for the other platforms such as Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile.
For the record, Fidelity is known as a mobile technology pioneer. More than 10 years ago, the company introduced mobile trading on a RIM pager and today, Fidelity Mobile works on a variety of handheld devices.
