I’d been hearing rumblings over the past week or so that Verizon could indeed end the storm 9530’s run of touchscreen goodness in the near future. While some were surprised to hear that… I wasn’t. Don’t even get me started on the Storm (or the Storm2 for that matter!), I could go on for days!
ANYWAY, it looks like Verizon is indeed calling it quits on the 9530, as a new peek at an ‘End of Life’ (EOL) device list has leaked from Verizon’s internal systems. As you can see in the shot above, the devices listed have no remaining shipments… So if you want to grab one you better head on over to Verizon before they’re all snatched up. The devices going EOL on us are:
- HP – NB1046 (Bixby)
- LG – VX5500, VX8360, VX8560
- Nokia – 6205 Blue, 7205 Intrigue (Silver & Pink)
- PCD – CDM8950, CDM8975 PTT
- RIM – 8230 Pearl Flip, 8330 Curve, 8830 Silver, 9530 Storm
- Samsung – i770 Saga Blue, i910 Omnia, U490 Trance Red, U650 Sway, U810 Renown
- ZTE – AD3700
Crud. That’s a lot of devices… especially on the BlackBerry front. Well, if nothing else all this means is the aforementioned devices are, well, lets face it… OLD! They’ll no doubt be replaced by something new… and the circle of mobile device life goes on… and on.
