App Smear brings STDs into AppStore (while bikinis remain banned)

We say the best way to start a new week is to poke fun at Apple’s apparently contradictory stance on “explicit” iPhone apps in the AppStore. The best way to do that is to show you a new iPhone app, called “App Smear” (like “Pap Smear,” get it?), that jokingly analyzes your “P” or your “V” for signs of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). It seems Apple isn’t too shy about spreading venereal germs around the AppStore, as long as it keeps things all family-fun-ready by banning girls in bikinis and and jiggly boobs.

Just like those fingerprint scanning joke apps that pretend to use the iPhone to analyze your fingerprint, App Smear pretends to detect bugs that you may or may not have gotten from your tryst in a dirty Las Vegas bathroom stall. App Smear “detects” STDs like Herpes, Syhpillis and Chlamydia and reports back with an hilarious splash screen and clever caption. The app can serve up over 50 different unique outcomes, so you can continue to amuse yourself with your potentially germ-infested self.

Unlike those other joke apps, though, App Smear has a public service announcement side to it. The app has an integrated testing center search tool that makes it quick and easy to find yourself a clinic to screen yourself after bumping uglies the previous night. The idea is to raise STD awareness among the iPhone generation with jokes and humor.

App Smear comes from Bearded Jew Apps. We’re told that the developers have more updates planned for App Smear, as well as other apps for the AppStore. Check out their website here.
