Supposedly the Cliq XT will be released tomorrow for $99 dollars on T-mobile. Say what? We’ve seen this keyboardless Cliq follow up device a couple times now, and knew it was going to be released soon, but with seemingly no announcement?
We’ve seen this baby hands on, and in the wild a couple of times, so it’s bound to be released any day now. Tomorrow is a very good possibility, as we’ve seen T-Mobile launch the Samsung Behold 2 without telling anyone, and only now have we begun to see advertisements for the awful TouchWhiz device. With a touch sensitive body, and MotoFlop MotoBlur on board, we’ve got a sleek little social networking machine on our hands. Although, I do enjoy the original Cliq’s keyboard.
The device will be selling for $99 on a two-year contract, and if you want just a one-year contract you’re going to have to shell out an extra $100 to get the XT in your pocket. No information if it will be available for the even more plus customers who would have have to pay about $20 a month for the thing. That may happen at some point, but we don’t know either way right now.
It’s anyone’s guess if the Cliq XT will be released tomorrow or now. If you’re like me, it won’t really matter- I won’t be running out to a T-Mobile just to see if in stock or now. Ok, maybe I will, but that’s because of my ‘new phone’ addiction, not the phone itself. Gotta love that new phone smell.
UPDATE: It’s not the biggest of biggest news, but I’ve received a confirmation from a T-Mobile employee that I know personally. The Cliq XT will hit shelves tomorrow people. So, you know, don’t worry about lines or anything. As there probably won’t be any, but just a heads up. Thanks E!
