INQ Mobile will be made available for the first time to Indian consumers this week. INQ has linked up with Aircel to launch its innovative range of mobile phones in India. The phones will be available in over 5,000 outlets, and Aircel are supporting the launch with a high-profile campaign fronted by cricket legend and company ambassador, M.S. Dhoni.
INQ is a relatively new brand that is backed by Hutchison Whampoa. The company’s vision is to make the mobile phone the centre of anyone’s internet experience. They were first to develop a mobile dubbed the ‘Facebook phone’ and scooped the prestigious ’Best Mobile Handset’ award at the GSMA event in Barcelona last year.
“There are many imitators. But INQ did it first, and does it best. This is about the real deal” says CEO Frank Meehan. We believe the Indian youth want it all – and why not? They want an upmarket product, from a brand that understands their point of view, at a price that’s within their grasp. That’s INQ.”
The INQ Mini 3G and Chat 3G are the latest phones that will be available in India. Whereas the Mini 3G is a slimline mobile, the Chat 3G is a larger qwerty-keyboard device. Both multi-task and allow users to switch between applications and their built-in Facebook camera with just one click. Check out out video of hands-on time with the Chat 3G here.
