Mobango pushes the envelope in application discovery

Mobango is telling anyone that wants to listen that the combination of its app-promotion service and the Mobango UGC community of 5m members, helps developers to be dramatically more effective in driving downloads of their apps compared to traditional promotion methods.

Mobango has apparently found that its Pay per Promoted Downloads Platform (PPD) service is 5 to 20 times more effective than in traditional promotion methods for applications. The Pay per Promoted Downloads Platform is a bidding system allowing content owners to bid for premium visibility on Mobango, but only pay for the downloads they receive. Since developers only pay when they get downloads, they are able to generate new users at a fraction of the cost of traditional Cost Per Click (CPC) or Cost Per Impression (CPM) campaigns.

For Fabio Pezzotti, CEO of Mobango, the viral nature of the Mobango community adds to the effectiveness: “For a developer, if you promote on Mobango, it’s not just random users downloading your app, but a member of our community. The various social features in Mobango mean that developers can create strong, long-term relationships with their customers, hence the effectiveness of the Pay per Promoted Downloads Platform at Mobango.”

Well you can’t argue with the logic – creating a stonger relationship with the end-user, so that you can upset isn’t new, but the social nature of this platform puts a new spin on things – we should expect to see plenty more of this UGC/Promo methodology going forward!
