
WIND Mobile is now allowing PC tethering for mobile internet access and media streaming on their BlackBerry Bold 9700. Understandably, these were big features that people were expecting and nagging about after enjoying them on any of the Big Three Canadian carriers, but it’s good to see WIND was listening (true to their tagline) and getting the problem ironed out. Both tethering and streaming will require WIND’s $35 Infinite BlackBerry data plan, which is unlimited until 5 GB of usage, after which your speeds are throttled.
I have no idea what the specific problem was when it came to having these features from the get-go, but between being a brand new network with a lot of stuff to sort out, and being the first Canadian carrier AWS bands. T-Mobile is running the same model on the same bands in the U.S., but I’m curious how willing they would be help out WIND up north with stuff like this…
