Smartphones, nay mobile phones in general, are personal devices. So, if you’re a smartphone manufacturer, it’s important to make sure that your headlining handsets are available in a variety of color variants. The Nexus One-esque HTC Desire is no exception – it was recently spotted with a Silver color scheme. Well, today we get to put eyes on the HTC Desire in Black trim. It’s just like the original Graphite-colored HTC Desire, but it sports a slightly revised optical trackpad.
The HTC Desire is flaunting its darker color scheme over on Amazon France’s website. It’s currently listed on pre-order status with a €503 (about $680) price tag. From the looks of it, this Black version sports the exact same feature set as the original. That means it’ll hit the ground running with a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 5-megapixel camera, 3G data, WiFi, GPS, accelerometer, digital compass and the Android 2.1 OS. The only difference that we can see from Amazon’s image is a slightly modified optical trackpad. Gone is the metallic “ring” around the trackpad, replaced by an optical trackpad without any bezel. It’s not a big difference, but it’s interesting that there’s any difference across color variants of the same device.
It’s not clear if the Black Desire pictured by Amazon is accurate. We’ll have to wait and see what this variant of HTC latest Android handset will indeed sport a different trackpad from the other two that we’ve already seen. With a little luck, we’ll see the Graphite, Silver and Black-colored Desire coming to AT&T in the near future.
